“Did You Watch The Royal Wedding?”

A few weeks ago, while I was waiting for something in a city nearby, I was asked by someone if I had watched the royal wedding. But before I go into what happened next, I want to go into what it was like for me before it took place.

The media spent a lot of time talking about what it would be like and there were people around me who also spoke about it. Therefore, the only way it would have been possible for me to get away from it all would have been to go into the middle of nowhere.

Another Event

Still, I didn’t pay too much attention to what was going on around me and just carried on with the rest of my life. I didn’t even feel the need to think critically about the whole thing, which is probably why I didn’t write an article about it.

About six years ago, I wrote an article titled, ‘The Royal Family: Why Are Some People Obsessed With The Royal Family?’ Until a few days ago, I hadn’t felt the need to say anything else about this family.

The Trigger

I told the person above that I didn’t watch it and they were baffled as to why this way. They asked me why and I simply said that I had more important things to do with my time.

It has been estimated that over fifty million people watched this wedding, so it is clear that there are a lot of people who admire this family. I don’t have an issue with this; it is their choice how they spend their time and for to them to decide who is worth their attention.

Stepping Back

To me, these so-called royals are no different to anyone else; what is different is that they live in a way that is radically different to how most people live on the planet. In my eyes, the royal family is just one big illusion, and this illusion is kept in place due to the amount of people who buy into it.

If I was to watch a Disney film about kings and queens I would a along with it, as I would know that it is all just make-believe. But, for me to buy into the royal family that exists in the real world, I would need to delude myself and to devolve to an earlier point in my development.
Projection

I think that when someone sees the royal family as being different, and even better than themselves, it shows that they are unable to see them for who they are. They are human beings; nothing more, nothing less.

What this can show is that they are placing the undeveloped parts of themselves onto these people, which will have caused them to put them on a pedestal. Thus, if were to own these parts and then to ingrate them, they would no longer need to elevate these people.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, if someone puts other people on a pedestal, they are going to stop themselves from growing. Also, when this takes place, it will be as though they are a child and the people they put on a pedestal are their caregivers.

They will then have regressed, thereby losing their ability to see that they are an adult and not a child. This is not to say that they will realise that this is taking place, though, as it could take place unconsciously.

While I was waiting for my dance class to start, I watched an instructor patiently coach a couple through what was obviously one of their first lessons. The instructor was having them do a “box step,” which is what it sounds like. A “box” made with your feet. It consists of two parts, a forward half box and a backward half box. Each half box has three steps: a step forward or backward, a step to the side, and a step to close the feet together. The instructor was counting out
