The beautiful Jennifer Garner was on The Ellen Degeneres Show the other day talking about her new movie, her new daughter and how she used “The Valslide” to shape up after giving birth to her. It was invented by Valerie Waters (Val Slide, get it?), personal trainer to Hollywood’s elite who has bee
Jen’s personal trainer for the past 10 years. In one segment she even demonstrated a few Valslide Exercises which she did in a tight skirt and 6 inch heels. Of course, Ellen being Ellen, said the scoot pads, or Valslide Booties, would be great to do a James Brown dance and proceeded to do a little jig. She’s so funny that way.

Let’s face it, reshaping your body, especially after childbirth, is not something most women look forward to because exercising to lose weight can be a lot of hard work, especially trying to lose baby fat. Getting that sexy shape back, well it’s just not easy. What people really want is an easy way to lose weight and get in shape.

I remember how hard my poor Mama worked out after having her second child to get back in shape only to turn around and have to do it all over again a year later after my second sister was born. And then there was the third sister. She had one of those stretchy rubber things that you hooked on the doorknob and attached to your feet for resistance. Can’t tell you how many times I laughed when I saw her get hit in the face with that thing when it would get out of control. Hey, I was just a kid. Anyway, these aren’t great workouts to get in shape.

You know come to think about it she may have done better for herself by just staying out of shape and all frumpy, either that or have my Dad neutered. Sorry, just thinking out loud. Obviously, some issues here but that’s better saved for a different forum.

Anyway, from what I saw when Jen was doing the exercises they looked pretty easy and non-invasive. And Jennifer’s motivation to get in shape? Why Ben Affleck of course! With so many Hollywood stars using Valslide, this fast and easy way to shape up their bodies maybe there’s something to it. Why else would so many people be talking about it?

Movement is one of the most honest forms of self-connection. The body never lies. It holds stress, records emotion, and reveals when something feels off. For many, this is why exercise has always been more than fitness; it’s therapy through motion. But not all movement heals. Some styles exhaust, others distract. True healing often begins in the slow, intentional kind, the kind that lets the body lead and the mind follow.rnThat’s where precision-based training, such as re
