Fishing has always been a favorite pastime for people. A catfish rig is the way to bait the fish. There are different ways to rig the line for catfish. These are simple to make and effective to use.Simple catfishing rigs

It is one of the simplest ways to start fishing. You can make your own rig with a catfishing line and have a strong hook along with a weight and bobber.

Shallow Catfishing Rigs

A shallow catfishing rig is setup similar to the simple rig, but the bobbers are placed 2 to 3 feet away from the hook and 1 or 2 split shot is given between every hook and bobber.

Floating Catfishing Rigs

If you are setting up a floating rig then it must be light in weight and the rig should not have any sinkers. One end of the leader line has to be tied to a barrel swivel and the main line must also be tied to another of the barrel swivel. The hook and bait must be tied to the other side of the leader line securely.

Carolina Catfishing Rigs

In this method, end of the leader line has to be tied up with barrel swivel and then the sinker weight has to be attached to the main fishing line. Onto to the other end of barrel swivel, tie the main line once the beads are added. Next the leader line has to be tied to the hook and then the bait on it. You may think why beads are used in rigs; beads are kept so that the knots do not come out at any cause. There are chances that the knot may come off especially while catching big fishes with heavier weight but the beads protect them.

Slip Bobber Rig for Shallow Water Catfishing

Add a slip bobber to the line and then add a small plastic bead and then as usual tie it up to a barrel swivel. Connect a short leader to the other end of barrel swivel which has a hook to another end. Bobber stop can be fixed to the other end of the swivel which helps to fix the right depth of line. Bait has to be placed just 1 foot from the bottom of lake or pond.

Among other rigs that are commonly used include 2 hook catfishing rigs, drift catfishing rigs, etc and it can also be used to catch fish .
