Shipping a car is two ways: one is Ro Ro which is Roll on Roll off, way and the other is Carrier method. In the Ro Ro method, vehicles are shipped below deck. They are driven inside the boat and secured in the hold against wind and water to the deck of the vehicle. No packaging is required on this shipping method. These boats are specially designed for the exclusive shipment of automobiles. This method is the simplest, most effective, easiest and cheapest method of car shipping. Even most manufacturers use this method of car shipping. Cars are driven at the destination port. Sometimes there is a risk of theft in Ro Ro. Another method of car shipping is the container method. In this method, carts are loaded directly into a 20-foot or 40-foot steel container, if two vehicles are shipped. This is exclusively the customer's container and can be loaded with some personal belongings like spare tires, etc. under the vehicle. This is not possible in the Ro Ro shipping method. Great care must be taken when loading the car into a container. There are floor rings with ratchet straps and wooden wheel chocks in the container in which the cars must be firmly locked in place and carefully secured. Cars can be picked up from the customer's door by the company, which are then loaded into the containers at the port of departure, or they can be driven from the customer's door in a covered pickup vehicle or car carrier, or the customer can deliver the car directly to the port with a necessary pass from the company. The customer must remember that when the car is ready for shipment, it must contain a quart of gasoline. No more no less.
