Call Forwarding is a remarkable telephone feature that enables incoming telephone calls to be routed to any other receiving end - this may be another extension in the same premises or a mobile phone, a residential phone, or even voice mail.
The distinct advantage of Call Forwarding feature is you will never miss any incoming telephone calls – be it a business call or a personal call. Call Forwarding also ensures that the caller is not confronted with annoying situations like no network, busy, out of reach, unable to receive call etc. There are different types of Call Forwarding and it is up to you to select the types you want.
Advanced Call Forwarding feature allows calls to be redirected to remote workers or departments but customers calling in will never know that they are communicating with someone in an entirely different location or area. But, with the Call Screening facility, that department or individual will be in a position to know who is calling before responding to the call.
Many service providers offer Call Screening additionally to their Call Forwarding feature – particularly for business enterprises. The caller has the option to mention their name for the recipient to know in advance before answering the call. The recipient thereafter has the option to either respond to the phone call or divert it to voice mail with a view to return the call later.
Call Screening can indeed be valuable for busy business owners and senior executives who may be keen on time management and also to those who need to prepare before speaking to certain individuals. This gives the recipient time to study the relevant documents for a more informed discussion.
The greatest blessing of Call Screening is you will not be caught off guard by an inconvenient caller. The Call Screening feature is just one of a long list of sophisticated features that advanced telephony offers.
Call Forwarding as well as Call Screening are valuable features for any business house in the sense they will contribute towards greater employee efficiency and overall productivity.
Call screening can be achieved in a variety of ways - listening to the message being recorded on an answering machine / voice mail, checking a caller ID display etc. Call Screening may even help a subscriber to to establish a list of numbers that will instantly receive an automatic message indicating that the call is not being accepted.
The most amazing part of Call Screening is you can listen to voicemails as they are being left. If you decide you want to take the call after hearing what they have to say, then you can pick up your phone and be automatically connected. Thus, Call Screening does not mean you blindly send all unwanted calls to voice mail without examining the merits of the call.
If you pick up the phone while the caller is still leaving his/her message, the call will be connected normally, the voicemail recording will automatically cease, and the speakers will turn off so that you can regain privacy. You can disable call screening feature whenever you so wish.
To sum up, both Call Forwarding and Call Screening are two valuable features that most business organizations will find highly useful.
