Life is scary right now. Just read the newspapers. This is credit crunch time and we have to cut back, watch what we spend and look on as our lives get worse and worse and...well, you know what I say to that: what a load of old tosh!

You get what you believe in - if you believe in credit crunch you'll get credit crunch, it'll chew you up and spit you out big time. Do you really want to let that happen to you? If you don't then read on because this article is for you.

There is always enough to go around, the problem is we read newspapers and watch the news. They dwell on the negative because the negative sells. We buy into this negativity because most of us have been programmed to do so from a young age often because of what our parents told us or showed us. We grow up expecting problems - life is hard isn't it?

Imagine if our parents never told us to be careful when we went out of the house or if they told us everyday that we can be whatever we want to be and accomplish our dreams if we are committed to them and that we are worthy even if we get a grade c in mathematics. Would we have any interest in reading newspapers then or watching the news? We may but only to focus on those brief moments of kindness and positivity.

Let's go back to the title of this article for a moment - the best way to beat the credit crunch. Our internal world is a mirror of our exte
al world and how we relate to it. If you are reading this article and thinking 'what is he going on about' think about it for a moment - if you were happy in yourself it wouldn't matter what's going on in the world. This goes back once again to our belief systems and we are not blaming anyone here. Most parents would try to do the very best they could for their child but they were full of the issues they'd picked up.

If we change ourselves the world changes for us. If we really look openly at what we feel is wrong with us and accept it and give it a hug then the issue will go away. It's when we fight the problem we keep the problem.

In my practice I see all the time the effect acceptance has on mental and physical problems - they melt away. When the alcoholic stands up and says "I'm an alcoholic," it's the first step towards recovery.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a subtle, yet effective therapy. It involves tapping certain acupressure points (mainly around the face and neck) and deals with the negative emotions that we've stored in our bodies and that come out as mental or physical problems and it dissolves these harmful emotions. We see the world in a more positive light because we've changed ourselves for the better.

Wouldn't it be great to able to say "I accept the credit crunch but it doesn't effect me because I look at the positives." Believe me, life is still great!
