No! rnGnani, the Enlightened one, specifies, that one who is virtuous never curses anybody and one who curses is not virtuous. So curse, etc. is all a fallacy, especially in today’s times.rnYes, on our part, we should not behave badly towards anyone such that one feels like cursing us, nor should we harness any bad feeling inside us, like that of cursing someone for any cause; or else this surely has very bad effects on life! Let’s understand....rnParam Pujya Dada Bhagwan, the Enlightened being, explains the principles of humanity:rnYou should behave with others only in the way that you find is agreeable. If I come to your house, and I like you saying, “Come, have a seat”, then when someone were to come to my house, I should say to that person, “Come, have a seat.” That is referred to as humanity. rnNow when someone comes to my house, I do not speak like that; but I expect the other person to speak that way, then that is not considered humanity. If you were to go to someone’s house; you expect an offer for a meal and as a guest you have a good meal there, then you should think, ‘When guests come over to my place, I should offer them a good meal.’ Do as you would like done to you. That is humanity. Therefore, in all matters, to ‘give’ only after having thought things through, is called humanityrnWhat is the practice of humanity? rnIt is [the consideration] that what hurts me will also hurt others, so my conduct should be such that others are not hurt. Whatever I find painful, I do not give such pain to anyone else. How would I feel if someone causes me such pain? Therefore, I do not give such pain to anyone else. A person will keep doing things according to his level of development. ‘In my interactions with people, I will not hurt anyone’ - that is the boundary of humanityrnSo carry out all your interactions with the assumption that whatever hurts you will also hurt others.rnWhat are the effects on life like? Param Pujya Dadashri further explains, rnIf a person engages in any conduct that goes against the practice of humanity; if one behaves like an animal, then that person will go to the animal life-form. If one engages in conduct that is demon-like, then that person will go to a demonic life-form, meaning a life-form in hell. And if one engages in super-human conduct, then that person will to go a life-form in the celestial realm. Thus, the practice of humanity means that if we give happiness to others, then we will keep getting happiness. If we maintain the worldly interaction to give happiness, then we will attain happiness in worldly interactions. And if we maintain the worldly interaction to give pain, then we will receive pain in worldly interactions. Therefore, if we want happiness, then give happiness to everyone in worldly interactions, and if we want pain, then give pain. Pray for the energy to give happiness to everyone; to hurt no one.Param Pujya Dadashri suggests, we can do such a prayer, seeking from God the energy to give happiness to everyone! Nevertheless, we must do the following prayer too, daily, without fail, that, ‘May no living being be caused the slightest hurt through my thoughts, words or actions.’ Param Pujya Dadashri advises that every morning, we must say this to God at least 5 times. And before going to sleep, we must sit for at least ten minutes, close our eyes and scan through our day to find out where all we caused hurt to people. Eg. Where all we felt like cursing someone, or even if a bad thought crossed our mind for some person, we must immediately do pratikraman. For every such instance, where we caused hurt either in our thoughts, or through our words or actions, we shall apologize before God and seek his pardon in the following manner: “Dear God! I made this mistake. Please forgive me. I promise I shall not make this mistake again. Do grant me strength for the same.” This prayer helps wash away our mistake and more importantly, enables a change in our subtle opinion, from that of ‘hurting others if people misbehave’ to ‘I never want to hurt anyone.’rnDespite the above prayers, our behaviour may not seem to change. But rest assured, you continue your morning and evening prayer exercise, as suggested by the Enlightened beings; things will soon change such that you experience good effects like enormous peace, happiness and harmony in life. The path to eternal happinessrnNow coming to the most interesting thing that Param Pujya Dadashri shares - He shows us the path to eternal happiness. He says, “These (the above) are the moral duties of humanity, but if we come to know about the inherent function of the Self (Atma), then eternal happiness will prevail.”rnAkram Vignan is a spiritual science that introduces us to our real Self. It makes it possible for people like you and me to attain Self-Realization in mere an hour’s time, solely with the grace of Gnani , the Enlightened One!!!rnHumanity practiced after attaining Self-Realization is of a different kind altogether! Param Pujya Dadashri describes, “The practice of humanity goes to the extent that, the distribution of wealth in this world is a natural process. In that, whatever my share may be, you will have to give it to me, so there is no need at all for me to become greedy. Therefore, when greed does not remain, that is called practicing humanity.” rnThat’s where we want to reach, isn’t it?! To know more: https://www.dadabhagwan.org/path-to-happiness/akram-vignan/
