"Ball pain" is not just a joke. Sometimes testicular pain does happen. The testis is a vital organ. If the testis goes wrong, it will have a significant impact on health. There are many causes of testicular pain, some of which are severe health problems requiring prompt treatment. What causes testicular pain? 1. Epididymitis The epididymis is the organ that stores sperm. In some cases, the epididymis may be inflamed. Because the epididymis connects to the testis, this can lead to a form of orchitis called epididymitis. The most common cause of epididymitis is a bacterial infection. Bacteria do not reach the epididymis through the blood but enter through the urethra. There are two sources of bacteria that cause epididymitis, one is venereal diseases, such as gonorrhea or chlamydia, and the other is Escherichia coli, bacteria that live in the gut. When the epididymis is inflamed, the testis is usually red and swollen. Sometimes it may be painful, especially when ejaculating or defecating. Sometimes it may have symptoms such as blood essence or frequent urination. People can take antibiotics for acute epididymitis, and they can work effectively in the early stage of treatment. If it turns into chronic epididymitis, it can be treated with traditional Chinese medicine, such as Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill. It can affect the entire reproductive system. Also, it can treat other reproductive system diseases, like orchitis and prostatitis, etc. In more severe cases, it may require surgery to remove part or all of the epididymis. If there is epididymitis, please pay close attention to the treatment. The longer the delay, the more serious the condition will be. 2. Varicocele When a valve in the scrotal vein fails, blood accumulates, leading to varicocele. Most varicoceles occur in the left testis. Varicocele can cause testicular pain, which may be mild or severe. If not treated in time, it will lead to more severe consequences. Anti-inflammatory drugs or surgery can be chosen for varicocele to remove the obstruction. 3. Orchitis Orchitis is a painful swelling of the testis, which may be caused by epididymitis or bacterial or viral infection, such as mumps and some venereal diseases. Symptoms of orchitis include fever, bloody semen, and penile or testicular pain. Because there are many various reasons for orchitis, it is essential to determine if you want to treat it. Doctors will conduct tests to find out the cause of the disease. The spread of bacteria causes most orchitis through the urethra and genital tract. It needs timely anti-inflammatory treatment, such as levofloxacin and ceftriaxone sodium. If a mumps virus infection causes it, antiviral therapy is required. The commonly used drugs are acyclovir, rnganciclovir, etc. at the same time, lidocaine is used for spermatic cord sealing to protect the spermatogenic function of testis. 4. Testicular tumor Testicular pain is rarely associated with testicular tumors. Testicular tumors usually show testicular mass, but sometimes patients with testicular tumors also feel testicular pain. It may not even be painful - your testicles may feel uncomfortable or heavy or significantly enlarged and swollen. In addition to lower back or abdominal pain, scrotal effusion, and chest tenderness, these symptoms also need to be examined. A good rule of thumb: if you feel, see or notice any changes in or around the testicles, see a doctor. When testicular tumors are involved, early detection is critical. 5. Testicular torsion Testicular pain is sometimes caused by testicular torsion. If not treated immediately, it may lead to severe testicular damage. Testicular torsion can distort and cut off the blood flow to the testicles, which is very painful. Testicular torsion needs to be treated surgically and as soon as possible. Many people can't stand testicular pain, which usually means serious health problems. Don't try to treat it by yourself. In most cases, testicular pain requires professional medical care or even surgery. If testicular pain occurs, finding the cause and quickly treating it is the key to recovery.
