Yes, I do! In fact, I have the knowledge that, ‘I am indeed a Soul, an entity distinct from my physical body.’rnI too, like you had this question on my mind for a long time and it would make me wonder who really am I? We all have an awareness of our body consciousness. But where can we learn about the Soul and how it is distinct from the body? After searching long and hard, I came across https://www.dadabhagwan.org/ On this website, I found some very interesting things to know like what is the Soul and how to experience the Soul. This was theory, but from here, I found the way to practically experience the Soul. This changed the course of my life forever! When our awareness lies in the body, it is called body consciousness. The consciousness of ‘I am this body’ is called ego. Then ‘I did this’ —gives rise to egoism. ‘This is mine’ — gives rise to feelings of likes or dislikes. Consequently, we experience mixtures of emotions in life – happiness, unhappiness, suffering, joy, pain and so on. All put together, dwelling in physical body consciousness is a bondage; it leads to worldly problems and suffering. Until body consciousness prevails, we are caught in the vicious cycle of birth and death, life after life, for infinite lifetimes. The Soul is distinct from body, name and ego. rnOur real Self is the pure Soul, and not the body, name or ego. The Soul is what we truly are. It is just that we lack awareness of this knowledge. Due to ignorance of our real Self, we suspect the very existence of the Soul. We are in constant doubt as to whether the Soul exists or not. But once we experience the Soul, no doubt remains thereafter. rnWhen a living enlightened being (Gnani Purush) graces us with Self-Realisation, the experience of the Soul, which is the real Self, begins. Afterwards, the false belief of, ‘I am this body and name’ drops and the conviction that, ‘I am a pure Soul’ remains forever. The Gnani Purush thus purifies our ego. He takes away both, our ego (I am John) and the feeling of possession (the body, mind, speech, and so on are mine). Following his given principles, we gradually attain the full experience of the pure consciousness of the Soul. We experience the eternal bliss of the Soul. That is when we realise how Soul is an entity, totally distinct from our physical body. As the experience of the Soul enhances, then even while there is severe pain in the physical body, we remain unaffected by the pain as we are a Soul, an abode of eternal bliss, separate from the physical body. After this experience, even you shall believe that, ‘Yes, I am indeed a Soul, an eternal element, distinct from our physical body.rnBut to experience this, we have to go to Gnani Purush, for only a Gnani Purush can bestow the gift of Self-realisation. He has the divine spiritual powers with which he puts in a line of demarcation between the Soul (the real Self) and the physical body (part of the relative self). Healing rarely looks like we think it will. It’s messier, slower, and much more sacred. Some events split life into before and after. A sudden loss. A betrayal. An illness you didn’t see coming. Trauma feels like a storm that tears down the walls you thought were unshakable. But beneath the wreckage, something else waits. Something you might not expect. With time, and sometimes with the right sacred guidance, the very thing that broke you open can also become what awakens yo
