State wide dates for both guns and muzzleloaders are as follows: December seventeenth through December eighteenth for guns & January seventh through January 10. Small GamernIn accordance with the Ohio hunting regulations, you are required to have a permit to hunt small game like rabbits and squirrels & your daily bag limit is four rabbits and 6 squirrels. However, you should take note of rabbit hunting restrictions and the dates that it is open to hunt. For pheasants, quail and doves, you’ll need to have a hunting permit as well. The daily bag limits are 2 cocks for pheasants, 4 quail & doves have specific regulations, so you should check into it based on where you live. Other small game including fox, raccoon, skunk, weasel, crow, coyote and wild boar can be hunted year-round, but if you're going to be hunting for these during the deer hunting seasons, the Ohio hunting regulations declare that you have to abide by the deer hunting laws. There is no bag limit on any of these animals except for grouse, which is 2 . Turkey huntingrnWhen it comes to hunting wild turkeys, you have two opportunities, in the spring and the fall, but there are Ohio hunting regulations that you need to abide. For example, there are specific laws that determine when you can hunt these animals, such as if a turkey is in a tree, it’s unlawful to kill it. You will have to obtain a seasonal hunting permit for hunting wild turkeys & you're only allowed to kill 1 per season. Hunting can be a perfect way to get your food, help to control animal populations and is a great sport, but you must follow the Ohio hunting regulations to make certain that you have a harmless, entertaining & legal time.
