Do You Still Have a Chance with Your Ex?

After getting dumped a lot of people want to know if they still have a shot with their ex. I know what it’s like. I’ve been there myself. When you’ve been rejected by your partner, it can easily feel like you’ve failed at something important and you just want to prove to them that you can change and that you still love them.

Well, here is something big to keep in mind when you’re trying to read between the lines and figure out if you’ve still got a chance with them or not.

The big thing you want to keep in mind is whether or not they have any sort of emotion at all when they are talking to you or about you. I really do mean any emotion. Even if they express hatred or anger when it comes to you, that is still immeasurably better than no emotion at all.

I’m sure you’ve heard before that the opposite of love is not hate, but indifference. This really is true. You see, even if your ex has extremely negative feelings toward you, at least you still hold a place in their heart, which is much better than if they feel completely cold toward you.

It actually is a lot easier to change a negative feeling to a positive one than it is to reawaken a cold heart.

All you really need to do is be persistent and show your ex that you’ve changed and are taking your life in a new and better direction.

Now, there’s a very good chance that your ex will probably be skeptical at first, so expect a lot of snide or even cruel remarks when you try to get in touch with them. You’ll have to let these all roll off your back though. Remember that this is just their emotions speaking.

And when it comes to showing your ex that you’ve changed your ways, it is much more powerful to let actions speak louder than words. They will obviously be able to tell that you are just talking to impress them if you need to go out of your way to make sure they know everything you’re up to and all the changes you’re making.

However, if you simply improve yourself quietly, and let the actions speak for themselves, they will see what you’re doing without it coming off as if you are trying to impress them.

This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t talk about what you’re up to. By all means tell your ex what you are doing with yourself. Just don’t make a big deal out of it. Remember that humility is your friend. Often it works best to just keep quiet about things until your ex asks.

So you see, you really may still have a shot at getting your ex back even if they seem to completely hate you. Remember that any emotion at all is better than none at all and the best way to win your ex back is to show them through actions that you’ve changed and that you’re taking your life in a better direction.
