Nursing and doctor scrubs are clothing items that are provided with some extraordinary functionalities which others lack in. A variety of nursing scrubs are available in the market which are made using different fabrics. Most often these clothing items are made using a blend of polyester and cotton. However, these scrubs are also made using 100% cotton or 100% polyester fabric modern doctors scrubs are also made using other synthetic fibers too like rayon and spandex.

All of these scrubs have their own features and usefulness and are worn by a number of professionals as per their needs and depending on what they feel comfortable in.

It is well known that medical clothing is made with some responsibilities and above all they have to provide a clean and safe environment to doctors to work in.

Another important thing is that these clothing items have to be sturdy enough to endure any wearing under any circumstances. Mainly these clothes have to resist body fluids because doctors wear these clothing items while operating a patient, and it is quite obvious to come across bodily fluids and blood under these conditions. Apart from this, these doctor scrubs also have to withstand multiple washings during their lifetime.

The type of fabric used in making clothes make a difference and award features to these doctor scrubs. In fact the type of fabric also alters the choice of doctors when it comes to choosing the scrubs. Most often doctors use scrubs that are made using a blend of polyester and cotton because these they tend to be affordable and do not demand much for their maintenance. Cotton and polyester mix scrubs are also preferred because they are easy to clean and dry and resist wrinkling hence, are hassle-free to care. Since they do not require frequent ironing, they make the favorite choice of doctors in most of the healthcare institutions.

However, cotton scrubs also experience high demands, especially during summers as they offer unsurpassed comfort and softness. Undoubtedly, cotton leaves behind all other fabrics, whether natural or synthetic, when it comes to comfort of the wearer. Besides, there is virtually no chance of seeing through if you are wearing scrubs made using cotton.

However, the most common problem that arises with cotton doctors scrubs is that they take much longer time to dry. Furthermore, they are more prone to wrinkle and costs slightly more than other synthetic fabrics.

Spandex and rayon are also used in making doctors scrubs further increasing the choice for the healthcare professionals. However, the most preferred doctors scrubs are those made using cotton or blend of cotton and polyester.
