There is much debate on the relation of life style and breast cancer risk, but still there is some confusion about the link between certain life style factors and the risk such as the link of diet and developing breast cancer is quite complex that is not easy to understand.
Diet and Breast Cancer Risk
According to a research what an individual eats has a strong impact on risk to develop cancer. If a person consumes much of red meat, processed and junk food and other animal food items rich in fats is at higher risk of being affected by the disease.
rnAnother study suggests that consumption of Mediterranean Diet that includes plenty of fruits and vegetables, healthy oils, moderate quantity of nuts; fish etc has a significant role to reduce the risk of developing this most common type of cancer in women. If a woman strictly follows this diet plan she reduces her risk more than half compare to other women.
According to some legal and public health studies the link between diet and life style changes is of vital importance to reduce the risk similarly it improves overall health by avoiding certain other health complications such as cardiovascular problems.
Alcohol and Breast Cancer Risk
A great deal of research has been conducted to link alcohol and the risk of developing breast cancer for both men and women. It is advised to both genders to minimize alcohol intake or totally quit it for the sake of reducing risk. Regular alcohol intake significantly increases the risk including all types of beverages and wine so women should be specifically aware about the strong link of alcohol intake and the risk of breast cancer because they are naturally at increased risk as compare to women due t certain unavoidable factors such as gender , age and family history.
Obesity and Breast Cancer Risk
Obesity or being overweight is a risk factor that directly affects the risk to develop cancer due t the high level of estrogen. Women need to be careful about body weight especially after menopause as in this age the risk is already increased comparatively. Obesity can be kept at a distance by eating healthy and by going for exercise regularly to gym or doing it at home in the form of a simple walk, swimming, bicycling and jogging etc. rnExercise offers certain other health benefits as well such so it increases energy, reduces stress and maintain healthy body weight as well. Some experts are of the view that doing exercise three times a week improves health significantly. Women who can’t plan exercise that is going to help them reducing body weight can seek the advice of health experts. Diabetic women can take good control of their diabetes that reduces the risk of breast cancer development.
Breast Exam and Breast Cancer Risk
Breast exam is one of the best ways to stay in touch with breast to enlighten awareness that helps women to identify unusual changes as they take place. Breast screening is also a useful act the especially in old age when the risk becomes higher.
