Low sperm survival rate refers to the number of dead sperm in semen is high. If sperm motility is relatively low, it will affect fertility. The main reason for the low survival rate of sperm is the inflammation of the urinary system, such as epididymitis, seminal vesiculitis, and prostatitis, leading to the decline of sperm motility.  So, does a low normal sperm rate affect your fertility? A low sperm survival rate means that there are dead sperm in semen. If sperm motility is poor, pregnancy will be affected. The main reason for the low survival rate of sperm is the inflammation of the urinary system, such as epididymitis, seminal vesiculitis, and prostatitis, leading to the decline of sperm motility. Common varicocele, due to venous blood reflux caused by local hypoxia, will also reduce sperm motility. The deficiency of some trace elements, such as zinc and selenium, can affect sperm motility. Mycoplasma infection or anti-sperm antibody can decrease sperm motility. Regular abstinence for 3-7 days, and then do semen routine examination, if grade a sperm ≥ 25% or grade a plus B sperm ≥ 50%, there is no effect. The amount of semen is usually 2-6ml, the liquefaction time of semen usually is 20 minutes, the pH of semen should be 7.2-7.8, and the amount of semen should reach 20 million-200 million / ml. What is the reason for the low normal sperm rate? Genital tract infection: Chronic infection of accessory gonads, such as Prostatitis, orchitis, etc., can lead to hypothermia. Other conditions such as Mycoplasma urealyticum and systemic infectious diseases can also cause low sperm vitality. Endocrine abnormality: The normal spermatogenesis function of males depends on the normal function of the hypothalamus pituitary-gonadal axis, and any obstacle in any link will affect spermatogenesis function. Other diseases such as the thyroid gland and adrenal gland may also affect the function of the gonad and lead to oligospermia. Varicocele: The anoxia of the testis causes varicocele due to the obstruction of venous reflux. On the other hand, the prostaglandins and serotonin in the blood of renal veins flowing back into the testis due to varicosity can cause the damage of spermatogenic epithelium and testis stroma of testis and reduce the spermatogenic function and androgen production function of the testis. Varicocele of the spermatic cord causes a local temperature rise of the scrotum and reduces sperm survival rate. Lack of trace elements: zinc is a necessary trace element in the human body, especially in testicular development, sperm formation, and sperm vitality maintenance. Selenium is an essential component of glutathione peroxidase in spermatozoa, which can prevent lipid peroxide in the sperm membrane and neutralize cadmium and mercury's toxicity to reproductive organs. The lack of these two trace elements will lead to a low sperm survival rate. There are many reasons for the low normal sperm rate in men. In addition to the four reasons mentioned above, there is also a situation that if you wear tight underwear for a long time, scrotal high temperature will also lead to decreased sperm motility. If the male is infertile for a long time and his wife's examination is normal, he must go to the hospital for assessment and timely treatment as soon as possible. Especially for some genitourinary tract infections such as prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, and so on lead to low sperm standard rate, they should actively choose herbal medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill for treatment.  At the same time, at ordinary times, men should strengthen nutrition, get rid of excessive masturbation habits, pay attention to personal hygiene, have regular daily lives, and prevent staying up late and extreme fatigue. They can also eat more green fruits, vegetables, nuts, animal liver, etc., to improve men's semen quality.
