Does Shiva fulfill my desire if I stay patient and trust him?

You mean to ask, if you stay patient and trust Shiva, then will He fullfill your desire? rnNo! It’s not so. Yes, if you stay patient and trust Him, you will fulfill Shiva’s desire for sure ☺ What is Shiva’s desire?... that we Be like Him!rnShiva is detached and desireless. He doesn’t need anything, nor does he have any condition that you worship me, you trust me; and only then I will fulfil your desire. He just wants that we all, like Him, become detached and desireless, so that we do not have to undergo any suffering. Yes, desire brings suffering. Worldly Desire is the Basic Cause of all Worldly SufferingsrnThe moment some desire arises, it keeps burning within. And the day that desire is fulfilled, another desire arises. So, no matter how many desires are fulfilled, we are found burning only all the time! And when one is burning so hard within, how can one stay patient?rnLord Shiva is also known as Neelkanth - You know that right? rnThe story suggests that when Lord Shiva drank the venom that came out during the Samudra-Manthan, due to the poison that he consumed, his throat became blue and hence he got the name Neelkanth. So, Neelkanth means One who has swallowed all the poisons (abuses and insults) given to Him in this world, with equanimity (topmost patience), and yet has offered blessings only to others. Shiva would want that we become such. So, when you trust Him and stay patient, you are taking the first step on the path of equanimity, provided that patience has no malign intent behind it. Shiv means...rnAs explained by Gnani, the enlightened One:rnWhen you say, ‘I am John (you may insert your name here)’, it’s a jeev dasha. rnAnd when you realize, ‘Oh! I am a Pure Soul’, your state changes from jeev dasha to Shiv dasha. Shankacharyaji has said, “Chidanand roopo Shivoham Shivoham. Na buddhi, na chitt, na ahankar, na mann, na krodh, na lobh...” - In all these things, I am not there. I am Pure Soul. Chidanand roopo Shivoham! So, Shiv means Soul with the full stage of right belief and right knowledge!!! Soul, when in an ignorant state, is called jeev; and in the realized state, is called ShivrnLord Shiv, as a statue or as a symbol, is meant for worshipping the Soul. In the ignorant state (not knowing really who am I), we pray, “Om Namo Shivay, Om Namo Shivay!”rnHowever, in relativity (statue or symbol), whatever we are observing; there is some reality behind that. We do not know the reality. So, we are praying to Lord Shiva, just as a murti, a Statue, or as a God. We are believing him to be God and we are praying. By praying so, it is the relative part that you are developing. As a result, you will get worldly happiness – a good wife, good children, good religion, everything. A lot of your worldly desires get fulfilled! Here, Gnani explains, “This is the jeev dasha (the state of John) and this is the Shiv dasha (the state of Pure Soul). If you want to achieve Shiv dasha, you have to realize the Self i.e. who am I?” When you realize your own Soul, automatically your path of salvation starts. Your relativity (whatever belongs to John) remains, and you will definitely get higher and higher. But inside, you will get liberation, mukti. Thus, to conclude, rnThe state of Shiv is our real state. And we can realize this state when Gnani graces us with Self-Realization. Thereafter, all obstructions on our path get slowly removed. Your desires get fulfilled automatically, easily and effortlessly. But see the magic – then, you won’t be having any desire at all! You will be free from desires, you will be a liberated Soul, experiencing the eternal bliss of your own! Wouldn’t that be excellent?
