There are many conventional treatments and unconventional treatments of acne which are popular among people. rnTanning is the process where people treat their skin under sun or UV rays to get tanned color in the skin. Tan or bathing in UV rays has been said as the remedy of acne by many people. But there is no hard evidence that it works in the long run. There are lots of myths about tanning and acne.

Scientists have experimented on people if tanning actually helps acne problem. The scientific results show no sure chance of improving acne problem through tanning process. They found almost no progress in the acne problem due to tanning. But as some of the test subjects have told them that they had seen fewer acne breakouts while tanning. Scientists are yet to get any hard evidence against the concept.

Products used for tanning can cause several problems in the skin other than acne breakouts. Many people have faced rashes, reddishness while tanoholic process. The sunscreen and other products used while tanning contains oils that may clog the pores of the skin and there might be worse breakouts of acne after the process. The UV ray can worsen the condition for some patients if their skin is more sensitive to the UV ray. Even normal people with no UV sensitiveness can feel several skin problems after tanning.

Tanning may stop acne for sometime

The tanning process can dry the upper layer of the skin. As a result, the natural oil of the skin dries out. Excessive oil is one of the main reasons for acne breakouts. That’s why tanning can prevent acne breakout for some time. But after the tanning is done, more oil comes out from the pores of the skin as the aftermath of the process, and that can cause more acne breakouts.

Side-effects of tanning

There are lots of side-effects of the tanning process. One of the most common side-effects is the skin becomes very sensitive and can have rashes. It can even cause skin cancer. That is why many dermatologists suggest avoiding such exposure to UV rays to the patients. Once the damage is done, there is no way to get your healthy skin back. Even if they might prevent your acne breakouts for some time, this process is not healthy at all.

Many types of people visit most of the tanning salons. According to many doctors, the salons are full of bacteria that can actually worsen the acne of people receiving treatment from those salons. Tanning salons are not proper for acne patients. Tanning beds can cause several skin problems.

Many people go through proper medication and treatment due to acne breakouts. Many of the acne medications can cause photosensitivity of the skin. In these cases, it is better to avoid tanning. Otherwise, the skin can get permanent damages. It can even cause cancer in the worst case scenario.
