“All you have to do is think positively and you'll manifest whatever you want!”
Is that really how it is?
My opinion is no. If you think positively for the attainment of stuff, you're going to manifest nothing. Why? Because when you think positively to acquire stuff, you're putting out a feeling (or vibration) that you don't have what you want, and by thinking positively you'll get it!
That's like sending out a message to the universe saying “I don't have what I want, but I'm going to think positively so you'll give it me”. It just isn't going to work.
On top of that, when you try and think positively, but don't actually feel the feelings of positive thinking then you're wasting your time. The universe doesn't hear your words, thoughts or even your emotions. It hears your vibration. And your vibration cannot be tricked into sending something that isn't true for you right now.
That's not to say that affirmations do not work. I'm a firm believe
that affirmations are a wonderful way to get yourself into alignment with stuff that you want. Check out Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life book and movie for more information on affirmations and you'll soon see the potential of your words.
The problem is that you won't believe your affirmations when you say them the first few times. In fact, they're going to feel like a lie to you because they just aren't true. The more you say them, the more you will loosen your resistance and move into a place where you believe them more and more and more.
This is the power of positive thinking. It's not a one time wonder type of event, you can't say affirmations once or twice and expect miracles. You can however used repetitive effort and say your affirmations and positive statements until you believe them which is when the Law of Attraction will take over and yield to you what you believe.
Positive thinking is not something you can switch on and off when you feel like it. You either think positively the majority of the time or you don't. Don't use it as a quick fix, instead see it as a new and better way of living.

“Weight-Train” Your Brain
I have a new cell phone. I didn’t want a new cell phone; I was perfectly happy with my 2020 cell phone, but it wasn’t happy with me. Its connector charging port was ailing. Failing, actually, the service tech told me. And besides, it was an old phone, what did I expect? Old? This to a woman who is more than content, read “thrilled,” to wear outdated fashions just because she likes them. And would willingly keep computers way past their supposed “shelf life.” Sigh. OK, fine,
