For most people, having hemorrhoids is a nightmare. They’re itchy, painful and annoying. Worse of all, they can bleed and make going to the bathroom a dreaded experience.

“Well, hemorrhoids should not be embarrassing. After all, they are the most common of ailments and most of us develop hemorrhoids at some time. So, if you haven’t experienced hemorrhoids yet, you still might. Indeed, we become more prone to hemorrhoids as we get older, because of ordinary wear and tear on the anal area over time and the general weakening of all body tissue that is part of the aging process,” explained the editors of Consumer Guide’s “Medical Book of Home Remedies for People Over 40.”

“The first sign of hemorrhoids is often a streak of bright red blood on the toilet paper, an alarming sight and possibly a symptom of more serious conditions, including colorectal cancer. Therefore, if you see blood and aren’t 100 percent sure that hemorrhoids are the cause, see a doctor,” they added.

Several factors contribute to the development of hemorrhoids. The problem seems to run in families. If your parents had hemorrhoids, chances are so will you. Eating foods with little fiber leads to constipation or hard stools which in turn cause the delicate anal veins to become swollen and bleed.

People who sit or stand for long hours are also candidates for hemorrhoids. Other causes are obesity, the improper use of laxatives and postponing your appointment to the bathroom even if you feel the urge to go there.

Since obesity can make matters worse, stay healthy and be happy. Reduce weight with the help of Phenocal, a safe, natural, and effective weight loss supplement that boosts your metabolism, suppresses your appetite, reduces food cravings, and increases energy levels to keep you in shape.
