Don't Believe Everything You Are Told

I truly am amazed and blessed to have the opportunity to learn daily from my patients. Yesterday, I had a woman come to me. She was in her 60’s. She was bubbly and so full of life and energy. Of course, I told her so.

She told me that a friend of hers was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She also told me that she was sort of irritated with the woman because of her attitude. She described her friend as someone that has everything going for her other then the fact that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I looked at my patient quizzically. She knew what I was thinking. She grinned and blurted out the fact that just because someone has cancer it doesn’t mean they are going to die! I was surprised by this comment. She was saying that to me….a mammographer….who sees breast cancer victors (survivors as some might say) daily. I agreed with her and told her of a book she could get her friend. Crazy sexy cancer tips by Kris Carr. I love that book I told her. It’s chock full of tips on how to be healthier while you are dealing with cancer and information on how to deal with insurance companies etc.

She thanked me for this information and said that she would spread the word. She volunteers at many different organizations. I thought to myself Wow…what a lovely energetic woman. I asked her what her secret was. How do you have so much energy and how are you so bubbly?
This is what she told me…….”Don’t ever believe everything you are told!”
That’s right……”Don’t ever believe everything you are told.”…….

She then told me that she had cancer when she was younger….was told she would die and has lived. She was diagnosed for a second time a few months years ago and told the exact same thing.....and there you go...

When YOU believe...truly believe in something its more than likely going to come true....so really think about what you think about and only believe in the good things...you know...Like God and Jesus Christ... :)
