Don't let the bed bugs bite! One of the hottest topics in pest control right now is bed bugs. Bed bugs are blood-sucking insects that feed on humans, typically at night. For this reason, it can be difficult to detect and get rid of these critters. Female bed bugs lay between 200 and 500 eggs! That could very easily lead to an infestation very easily! Good places for bed bugs to hide include the seams of mattresses, inside upholstery, and on clothing or in luggage. Getting rid of bed bugs can be a very difficult task. To get rid of bed bugs insecticides will be required to eliminate all bed bug infestations. However, for more serious infestations whole building fumigation may be the only answer. The very thought of a bed bug infestation can set anyone's skin to crawling. Fortunately, there are pest control measures you can do to keep the possibility of a bed bug infestation to a minimum. These include: Keeping clutter to a minimum. Bed bugs love to hide, so give them fewer choices! Also, by keeping your home streamlined and clutter-free you can more easily see the evidence of an infestation and deal with it. Remember, it is easier to combat bed bugs when you catch the infestation in the earliest stages! If you travel frequently, avoid bringing bed bugs home with you. Check your hotel room mattress (under the sheets, please!) for evidence of bed bugs. If you suspect you h ave been exposed to bed bugs, inspect your luggage before you bring it home and always wash your clothing in hot water as soon as possible after coming home. Avoid buying second-hand furniture. This is one of the easiest ways to bring bed bugs into your home without knowing it. If you must buy second hand, inspect the items very thoroughly BEFORE you bring them into your home, not after. If you see any evidence at all, do not bring the item into your home. Get rid of infested items. This may seem obvious, but the tendency to simply bring an infested mattress to the curb or garage for later disposal is not good enough. Bring the items all the way to the dump to be sure the bugs cannot make their way back into your house. By using these tips and keeping an informed eye toward early detection of bed bugs, you'll be able to drastically reduce your risk of an infestation. No one wants to let the bed bugs bite in their own homes, so ensure that you do everything you can to avoid running that risk. pest control services can help to keep your family safe.
