Stress, the new age disease has taken the world by storm. It is spreading among all age groups and has some devastating effects on human beings. Until two decades ago, this word did not exist commonly. It was hardly heard in conversations and people would rarely complain about this condition. However, with changing times and globalization, this disease has seen a quick rise and is scaling new heights. It has become man's inseparable friend. Not that people like it, but they have learned to live with it. Blame it on the tough competition and dirty politics of the corporate world. Stress has become a part of the job and is easily accepted. Whether you like it or not, you end up building a relationship with this vice. However, a little consciousness and efforts can save you from becoming a slave to this emotion. Here are some ways in which you can control and stress relieve.
Stress Relieve Methods
Thoughts - They are the root cause of this disease and can play havoc in your life. Human mind is capable of producing a high number of thoughts in a minute. In fact, it can create as much as 25 to 30 thoughts in a minute. This leads to cluttering of thoughts and the mind is disturbed. The mind is not at peace and continuously thinks about something. Excessive thinking causes confusion and ultimately leads to worrying. When this worrying does not end, it leads to stress. It is important to deal with this matter at the basic level. It is in your hands to stop wasteful thinking. If you feel that your mind is generating thoughts at an alarming rate, it is advisable to divert the thought process. Indulge in some other activity and replace the existing thoughts with some other thoughts. For instance, you could listen to music, indulge in dance, or read a book, or get involved in any other activity of your choice. Even a short break will help a great deal in preventing wasteful thoughts. This is the best stress relieve method. You could also calm your mind by listening to some meditative music.
Take A Break - Occasionally it is good to take a break from the routine and then get back to work. For instance, a 10 minutes walk will also do wonders if you are stressed or worried. Indulging in a hobby of your choice or doing something different from what you do otherwise will also help. It is said that petting a dog or playing with a child are great ways of busting stress. You could also get into a physical activity like playing some sport or exercising. These methods too will help you de-stress.
Change Your Perspective - This stress relieve method is a tried and tested one that has been taught in several philosophies. It is good to change your perspective and look at situations as challenges, rather than difficult tasks. When you take up a challenge, you will feel a sense of achievement once it is resolved. However, if you consider it as a testing job, or an obstacle, then you will work on it with a low morale.
