You are now reading Part 2 of my article "Do's and Don'ts for the Internet Marketing Newbie". Part 1 of the cover to cover and this part not to do.
Do not throw away money! Unless you have a lot of pull and can afford to buy what is pulling you. Budget yourself and keep within your budget. Only pass when needed. You will find plenty of sites that want you to spend your hard earned money to an Internet marketing course, E-book, or a piece of software guaranteed to make money. Do not fall into the trap. First investigate, ask questions of other companies to see if they are familiar with the product and recommend it. That's where the forums are useful and beneficial.
Do not believe all the hype you will encounter. Example. BUY THIS SOFTWARE NOW! Only have until midnight tonight or the price will double or even triple. You can save $ 200.00 IF YOU BUY NOW! I do not think the price will be the same tomorrow and the next. Or here's another good one. I am only selling this to the first 50 visitors to my website. Yeah, right. I truly believe that one.
Do not forget that you are a potential customer to every marketer out there, so try to sell your services or products to make money. Remember that you are now a vendor and its purpose is to sell your product or service to others, not that they purchase.
Do not get me wrong, some of the services or products that are worth buying. Just figuring out the best for you and your business. Remember you're not trying to line the pockets of someone else. You are trying to line their own.
Do not get frustrated and give up because things do not happen immediately. You have to have the mentality that you can do it and succeed. Of course you will have good days and bad days. Each achievement is a victory. Every defeat is a learning experience. No business is an ove
ight success.
Do not limit yourself and your thinking. Be willing to try different things and when it is the only thing that seems to work, build on it, but keep trying other things too.
- You have had your business up for a couple of months and I've only made a single sale. Do not stop because you think it is not working. Thinking in these terms instead. If you made a sale, then you can make two sales, and if you can make two sales, you can make three sales, etc. Many of the top sellers on the internet today took years to find the formula that led to its success.
Do not think there is such thing as an "automatic pilot" business. As Ron Popeil grill oven was proposed and GO. It just does not work that way. I do not care what you heard or read. You have to promote your business. You have to put your name out there and become visible so that people can find you and what you are offering. The fact that we now have a website does not mean that the masses will come in droves. There are millions and millions of websites and probably at least a quarter of a million of them are selling the same product or service you. The question is how it will make people visit your website instead of someone else? Once there, he'll get to buy from you or join your affiliation? So I understand that you will have to learn to promote and sell their business and that involves work and time.
Do not upgrade your membership account until you can afford to do so. Many affiliate programs to try to pressure you into upgrading to a "Pro" account. Wait until you start making some money from his first business, then upgrade.
Do not rely solely on email to promote your business. Major Spam filters your message can not pass. Find all the different ways of advertising on the Internet, such as writing articles, exchanging links, click / surf exchanges, pay per click search engines. Using online media to advertise your business like newspaper ads, mailings, telemarketing, fax and flyers. Put your website on a shirt and wear it!
Do not give up, persistence will pay off over time.
Well, I'll stop there. I could probably go on and on, and even write an e-book on this subject (which is a thought). I think the idea about how to avoid "information overload" headache and I hope I have given you some substance for thought. The most important point is take one step at a time. Do not rush it! And remember once a "newbie" always a "newbie" because you will learn all the time!
