According to many health experts, all children should be involved in Sports or physical activities since it helps promote a healthy living. Sport also provides opportunity for youth to grow emotionally and socially capable. A lot of parents and adults sometimes ask if how important are sport activities and if it is really beneficial for the proper development of a child. As many would say, it is not about as simple as activity involvement of a child, but the scope and significance of participation can be best to address. Mental and Emotional Growth Sports activities is another form of exercise that helps relieve stress and depression in young children. It improves the mental capacity of a child when they learn to have focus on every team game that he play. Sport does not only requires a child's physical skills but he also uses his mental alertness in order to perform the proper techniques in playing a game. Children and youth also learn to have self-discipline, develop self-confidence and acquire the essence of self-motivation that is very essential for achieving their personal goals. Physical Growth Taking children to engage in Sports can help them acquire sufficient exercise that is essential in building muscles and tendons of growing children and kids. Regular physical activities can also help children avoid various health risks of childhood obesity. Sport activities is one of the effective way of maintaining a child's active body and instilling within the importance of physical health as they grow older. Social Growth Group sport provides an opportunity for youth to communicate and work together in a team. It helps them develop appreciation and respect with their fellow kids and gain the management skills. Team game is the best way for children to have socialization and to get along with their team mates. Sports-related Injuries Sport is an activity that requires strenuous work and repetitive actions, and it sometimes lead to various health-related injury and deaths to young children. Kids in nature have mostly weak muscles and joints that is not capable of doing heavy sport. When they try to get involved with competitive sport activities, this can sometimes cause serious damage to some parts of their body. So, it is very important to ensure children's safety by making them use right equipment to avoid possible injuries. Too much Competition One of the disadvantage of Sports is that children who engage in this activity sometimes take the game too seriously which tend to make them to always aim for the purpose winning. Adults should always inculcate in the hearts and minds of this kids that the true essence of this activity is only for having fun and for portraying sportsmanship. Less Priority for Studies When a child starts to excel in athletic activities, he will try to focus more on it to receive good compliments from others. In this train of thought, he may begin to forget about his notes and consider the fact that through this activity he can able achieve academic success. But, he was not able to think that both that academics and Sports are both significant for his full development.
