DVD Shrink is actually the free software for MS Windows. It’s a DVD transcoder and you can use this software to copy your favorite DVDs on your system hard drive. The .exe file of 1 MB contains the software. The interface of DVD Shrink software allows you to choose specific DVD elements. The software is capable to compress the video up to 35-40%. This allows you to copy the software on a standard or dual layer DVD or any other custom size.

You can create a backup copy of any DVD by using the DVD Shrink software with any DVD burning software that you prefer. It’s quite easy to use this software. Once the software is downloaded, you need to put it into a DVD Rom or DVD Burner. After that, you simply need to choose a full disc copy or a main movie only. After analyzing the DVD, the software will encode the video files and later burn a copy of DVD to DVD-R media.

You can choose the compression level for each video track to get the preferred disk size. The software will produce an ISO Image of the copied DVD or a Video_TS folder for further processing, burning or viewing. You can reduce the size of DVD either by reducing the contents of original DVD or may keeping the entire original content but reducing the quality of the original content and thus the file size.

The main function of DVD Shrink software is to re-encode the original movie in a reduced quality or to remove the unwanted content of the original movie. The unwanted content may include foreign language soundtracks or specific sections that are not required. Most of the commercially released video DVDs are dual layered with the storage capacity of 8.5 GB. However, the standard recordable blank DVDs are single layered with the storage capacity of 4.7 GB. You can solve this issue by using the DVD Shrink software which allows you to compress the video content of the original DVD to a reduced size by removing unwanted files in it.

In this way, you can easily copy your favorite DVDs in a more compressed format by downloading free DVD Shrink software on your computer system. The software will not allow you to copy movies in a effortless way but also provide you good quality movies at no additional charges.
