There are people in the world that almost always have something taking place that prevents them from living a peaceful and harmonious existence. For these people, their life can have a lot in common with a soap opera.

Now, unlike soap operas, these people might not have people in their life who are murdered but they could experience just about everything else. For someone like this, their life is rarely going be boring or lack stimulation.

It’s Always There

From the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed, there could be something that consumes their attention. And even if there is nothing taking place in their life, it might not be long until there is.

Some of the people in their life could also experience life in the same way, which will give them plenty to talk about. They could spend a lot of time talking about how ‘unlucky’ they are and going over how their life never works out.

It’s Amusing

If there are people in ones life that don’t experience life in this way, they could enjoy hearing all about their stories. They could find that they feel better after they have spoken to them, due to how different their life is.

Another person could be relieved that their life is nothing like this person’s life. However, even though they might enjoy listening to them, they might not want to spend too much time around them.

A Negative Influence

If they were to do this, they may find that their life starts to get worse and that their emotional state starts to drop. It could be said that this is not much of a surprise as if someone is used to experiencing a lot of drama, they could have an energy/resonance that is not very uplifting.

Thus, another person could end up feeling drained and even wiped out if they were to spend too much time around them. For them to protect themselves, they will need to limit the amount of time that they spend around someone like this.

A Closer Look

So when someone is used to experiencing a life that is anything but peaceful and harmonious, they might be used to having trouble at work, trouble with their family and problems in their relationships.

When it comes to their work, they could often have arguments with their colleagues, have issues with their superiors and trouble with the job itself. If they are self-employed, they could be used to having problems with their customers and the people that supply them with different things.

Relationships

As for their family, they might find that they often fall out with one family member and have long periods of time when they don’t talk to this person. They might even spend a lot of time typing to keep the peace between certain family members.

If they are in an intimate relationship, they could be with someone who is hot and cold or who is abusive. Yet, if they are single, they could be used to going on dates with people that seem perfect and then disappear, giving them plenty of highs and lows.

Inner Experience

Through having these types of experiences, along with many others, there are likely to be certain feelings that they are used to having. They can be used to feeling angry, rageful, helpless, powerless, and fearful.

In addition to this, they will most likely be used to experiencing high amounts of adrenalin. Experiencing so much of this won’t be good for their health, but what it will do is give them a rush of energy and allow them to feel alive.

Inner Conflict

When one experiences life in this way, they can spend a lot of time complaining about how bad their life is to just about anyone who will listen. They can also spend a lot of time talking about how stressed they are.

Nonetheless, even though this can take place, it doesn’t mean that they actually want to experience life differently and to live a peaceful and harmonious existence. Deep down, experiencing life in this way can be what feels comfortable.

What’s going on?

Ergo, while one can make out that they are simply a victim, there is likely to be a lot more to it. What can’t be denied is that they are the common dominator - they are the one who keeps showing up.

Also, there is a strong chance that they are addicted to experiencing adrenalin and being angry. Both adrenalin and anger will allow them to experience feel-good chemicals.

A Deeper Look

One thing that one can do to find out why their life is this way is to think about what their life would be like if it was radically different. If they were able to step back and to reflect, they may find that this something that feels good.

If they stay with this exercise, though, they may find that they start to feel unconformable. Due to how long they have experienced life in this way for, they might not know who they are without their drama.

A Key Point

Part of them may believe that they would die if they no longer have all this conflict in their life. This could be seen as something that is coming from their ego as this part of them will have formed an identity around experiencing life in this way.

To this part of them, it doesn’t matter if an identity serves them or not; what matters is that it is classed as familiar and is therefore safe. The question is: why would one’s mind associate experiencing life in this way with what is safe?

Drama is love

When one experiences drama, not only will they experience a cocktail of brain chemicals; they will also receive attention. What this can show is that experiencing drama is a way for them to be seen and heard.

They may believe that if they don’t experience life in this way, they will be overlooked by others. As a result, if they don’t experience drama, they will probably find that they feel invisible.

Way Back

What this could show is that their early years were a time when they only received attention when they were ill or when something wasn’t going well, for instance. Along with this, perhaps their caregivers also used drama to receive attention.

Ultimately, they wouldn’t have learnt that they could be seen, heard, and loved, for being themselves. The only way that they would exist is if there was something dramatic taking place in their life.

Awareness

If one can relate to this, and they are ready to change their life, they may need to reach out for exte
al support. This is something that can be provided by the assistance of a therapist or a healer.

By working through their inner wounds and understanding that they can be seen, heard and loved without needing to experience drama, there will be no need for them to create so much stress. They will get to the point where experiencing life in this way just won’t doesn’t interest them anymore.

While I was waiting for my dance class to start, I watched an instructor patiently coach a couple through what was obviously one of their first lessons. The instructor was having them do a “box step,” which is what it sounds like. A “box” made with your feet. It consists of two parts, a forward half box and a backward half box. Each half box has three steps: a step forward or backward, a step to the side, and a step to close the feet together. The instructor was counting out
