Death. Dying. Dead. How most of us dread these small words. Packed with so much power to induce endless fears in the deepest parts of our hearts. We do not even dare to linger on their meaning. We want to throw them far away from us, as far as possible, pretending they do not exist, or at the least that they will not touch us for a very long time.

But deep down, we know we are only delaying the inevitable. One day, we WILL have to stop and stare death in the face, either our own, or someone close to us. And we WILL have to ask some very difficult questions, maybe not even finding the answers.

Why are we so fearful of death? I think it is because throughout our lives, we have invested in the erroneous belief of who we truly are. It is indeed very scary to think that once dead, that is the end of us. We are totally wiped out, and our presence on earth will appear to have been quite meaningless, a waste of time and waste of space.

We are also sacred because we do not know where we are going. The Western world has deprived us of so much vital knowledge on ALL of life, which includes life after earthly life, that we are now so ignorant about it, it scares us silly and irrationally.

So many people poo poo the idea of life being ete
al. It may come from our religions forcing frightening dogmas onto us, like ete
al damnation, punishment, hell fires, endless pains, no way out of the suffering…So better not believe we will live on, as the prospect of life on the other side is way too scary. Or we simply declare boldly, and very arrogantly, that the millions of people who have momentarily experienced life ‘after earthly life’, and have come back to tell the tale are all liars, every single one of those millions!

At the least we could ask ourselves ‘ and what IF this was true? Doesn’t opening this door, asking this simple question remove some of our fear? And what if the beauty of Heaven was really true? What if indeed, all there is on the other side is an all-encompassing Love that will welcome me, no matter who I am and what I have done?

We have no business being fearful of death. Everybody dies, yes that is true, but only the body dies, not the real ‘us’ ...and then no one is dead, ever! The body is dead. The vehicle that carried us around for a number of years always had a limited lifespan…but not YOU, the real you who travels in this vehicle of flesh. Once your ‘car’ is gone, you simply carrying on travelling without it, and you’ll do great without it too! Have you ever thought what an encumbrance it can be to have to feed your ‘car’ 3 times a day, park it in a bed for a third of your lifetime, find a decent garage for it, patch it up and repair it when it breaks down? How tiresome this high ‘car’ maintenance can be! But now freed of its constraints after ‘it’ died, where do you think you will go? How do you think you will travel? What’s coming next?

Death is just a change of clothes. It is a change of address. It is getting out of your car to open the front door of your REAL Home! Knowing this, we can drop all fears about it. And start truly living, knowing there will be no break in our life line, ever! But it would be also wiser to get to know what is ‘on the other side’? Because without knowing, fear will grip us every now and then, and throw us into turmoil. In fact, we Do know the other side very well, as that is the place where we came from before we were born. We simply forgot about it, that’s all. As soon as we are back Home once we have left our bodies behind, we will recognise it all and say’ Oh my goodness, how on earth – literally- could I forget about so much beauty, so much love, so much grace, so much light?

There is nothing to dying. As one person who died and came to tell the tale said, ‘dying is VERY safe’!

Dying has never been the end of YOU! It has never been the end of anyone, ever! So drop the fear about it, and truly enjoy your life, for that one will NEVER end!
