Easy Chili Recipe in a Bread Bowlr
Consider making this chili recipe with a fabulous presentation. Instead of the usual serving bowls, the recipe uses a bread bowl. Hence, anyone will find the dish a delight not only because of the taste, but with the visual presentation, too.
Ingredients:
• 1 pound of ground beef
• A cup of chopped onion
• 16 oz. of kidney beans
• 15 oz. of tomato sauce
• 14 oz. can of diced tomatoes
• A tablespoon of chili powder
• 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
Bread bowl:
• 1 tablespoon of cornmeal
• 2/3 cup of water
• 1/4 cup of butter
• A cup of all purpose flour
• 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
• 2 teaspoons of baking powder
• 4 large eggs
Procedure:
Prepare the filing of the bread. Begin by browning the slices of beef and the onion in a large saucepan. Then, drain excess oil in the beef by using paper towels. Set aside. Next, cook the other ingredients such as the tomato sauce, tomatoes, garlic and chili powder. Use the saucepan where you cooked the beef. Cook and simmer the ingredients for about 20 minutes.
Then, prepare the ingredients for the bread bowl. Grease the baking pan (round or heart-shaped). Scatter the cornmeal in the baking pan. Set aside. Next, boil water mixed butter. Include the flour, baking powder and the parmesan cheese. Stir gently the mixture until several bubbles begin to form. Remove the prepared mixture from heat and set aside.
Meanwhile, beat the eggs in a bowl. Pour the cheese mixture and the eggs into the prepared baking pan. Bake the bread mixture for half an hour at 425 degrees F. Then, make a slit or cut in the center of the bread. Let the bread cool for about 5 minutes. Then, pour the chili mixture into the bread bowl and serve while hot.
