Headaches are common and at some times many of us suffer from minor to severe headaches. But when we speak about migraine, things related to headache attain seriousness and demand immediate attention without ignorance. Migraine is caused by anomalous brain activity. Sometimes external social and psychological factors work as a trigger for migraine. Migraine in men is slightly different from that of women’s and women may suffer from migraine during menstruation due to hormonal imbalance. Medical tips help to control symptoms and are effective on a migraine attack. These attacks are usually associated with physical symptoms like nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, and sound.

Various factors work as causes for migraine. These factors are independent of family history. Even at times, some food items may trigger migraine. Though migraine is not considered as a serious brain disorder, it definitely has serious disturbance on lifestyle and health due to reciprocation. Being a complex disorder there is no standard migraine treatment. Usually migraine can be treated with alternative medicines. These include acupuncture therapies, herbal supplements, intake of minerals and vitamins, and antioxidant supplements like Coenzyme Q10.

Tension headaches are similar to other types of headaches as far as symptoms are concerned. However, it is important to know that the cause of the headache is different. Usually this type of headache is caused by hectic lifestyle patterns. Most people usually suffer from tension headache, but if it becomes chronic then it will become a concern. The symptoms can be easily identified; these are tiredness, want of sleep, wrong food habits, tremendous mental pressure, and several other occasions of disturbed lifestyle. This type of headache may lead to tension pain. Treatment for headache includes alternative medicines, medications, relaxation techniques, meditation, exercise, yoga, and regulated stress levels.

Another major type of headache is cervicogenic headaches. These are also known as neck related headaches. This type of headache is caused by injury to neck and upper back muscles. The best way to treat this headache is to prevent it from happening in the first place. Simple tips help to keep this headache away. Many of these tips are concerned with opting for right posture during working, driving, sleeping, reading, lifting weights, carrying babies, and backpacks. Little precaution during all these activities can help to prevent cervicogenic headache. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Instead of medication for headaches, it is always advisable to refrain from triggers that may initiate headache.
