Mold can be spotted in the cleanest home also. Mold is a kind of fungus whose spores are present in the air all the time, in fact millions of them. When conditions are quite right for these spores, they attach an accommodating surface and rapidly build their colony. These colonies are known as mold. Mold can be of any color like brown, blue, green, black, white, orange or red. A stale smell in the house is a signal that mold colony is present there.

Mold can be found on or under surfaces like floors, walls, attics, ductwork, gutters and ceiling. To prevent future mold infections, reduce the moisture level at your home. This should be your topmost priority. When you sight a spot of mold, clean it immediately. Acting within the 24 hours is most important. This will prevent the colony from spreading. To start with, determine the current situation of mold. You may get rid of mold by a simple cleanup. Hard surfaces like tile can be cleaned quite easily, but porous surfaces like drywall needs replacement. There are many home made mold clean-up solutions. You can use simple products like soap to clean the mold. The best solution is 1 cup of bleach in 1 gallon of water. Fill that up in a spray bottle and spray this solution on infected areas. Wait for few minutes and clean it up with a sponge or cloth. Like this one, you can find many easy ways to get rid of mold in your house or office.

Mold cause sinusitis and eye watering issues in people and animals. This can be the nightmare for someone who is suffering from allergies or asthma. It causes destruction in home flooring, walls and even wood frames would be damaged due to the mold. Repairing of molds can become costly for homeowners if it is ignored. It will be beneficial for you to treat the problem when it is small to avoid damages and other health problems.

So, if you smell a musty odor you have problem of mold problem. There are specific areas where you need to look for mold. To check certain area to whether if it molded or not, just drop or two and wait for few minutes to check discoloration. There are number of natural mold cleaning products.

Mold can be easily removed from hard plastic, glass, metal or any such hard surfaces. You need to scrub the surface with detergent or non-ammonia soap. However, removing mold from porous surfaces like sheetrock, carpet padding is difficult. It is advisable to discard such material if it has mold at that time it should discard as it is impossible to completely remove the mold.

After you remove the mold use the clean water solution or another disinfectant using a bleach to clear the surface. The amount of bleach you have to use with water varies. If the surface is clean then it will requires less amount of bleach per gallon of water. However, make sure the surface remains wet for at least 15 minutes. Finally, clean the area with plain water and dry the surface with natural ventilation.
