Feeling sad, down and lonely is a part of life. it is these feelings that become the driving force for us to succeed because normally; no one wants to feel sad due to a certain reason and they would act in a way antagonist to the feeling to cure it. However, if the feelings of loneliness, unexplainable sadness and guilt last for more than a week or two, Then you’re in for a serious, yet quite ignored health condition; Depression Depression, unlike normal mood fluctuations, is a mood disorder that is characterized by feelings of lower energy levels, sadness, guilt, and loss of interest in daily activities. And although it can be explained in terms of medical sciences as imbalanced levels of certain hormones (e.g. serotonin) in body environmental cues does play a very important part in its development and progression. The disorder is a mental one, but a mental disorder in no means means that it will not affect your physical health because of what you think… you do. Simply put, loss of interest in daily activities forwards to no physical work which would eventually put a strain on your health.

Central Nervous System and Memory

Depression is mainly a disorder of a brain, so it's normal to say that the disorder of the brain will affect the brain. The first appearing complication is the inability to think properly. A depressed person is drowned in grief and guilt to an extent that all his thoughts are centered around self-hating and self-harm, hence a decision made while standing on the grounds of self-harming thoughts is never a good one. For the time being, it feels like the right thing to do but believe it or not, it's not the right thing. Also, depressed people are more likely to experience memory losses. A prolonged wave of depression comes with the inability to remember small daily tasks and things. The factor affects the elderly more than the younger, American Psychological Association reports that ‘older people with depression are more likely to have difficulties with memory loss and reaction time during everyday activities compared to younger adults with depression'. But just because the reports are centered around older people, younger people are not to take the findings for granted. Temporary Memory loss because of depression may feel harmless once the wave is over but over a while, with recurring and more prolonged waves, they present a complication of neuron degeneration, which can lead to permanent memory losses. Other factors in CNS problems maybe insomnia which come with its dangers and complications, headaches, pain in different parts of the body resistant to medications, and neurological problems like Alzheimer’s, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.

Cardiovascular system and stress

Depression always leads to stress and stress means increased levels of stress hormones; Adrenaline, cortisol and norepinephrine. The increased levels of stress hormones when stretched to greater periods of time impose dangerous health problems and then, even Adrenaline cannot help a person escapes from the moment. Serotonin and dopamine are regarded as happiness hormones. The increased levels of flight-or-fight hormones deplete the levels of happiness hormones because naturally, your body does not feel the need to be happy when it’s in the state of fight-or-flight These stress hormones other than not allowing you to feel happy also boosts your heart rate and blood pressure, because that is what the stress hormones do, they prepare you to face a threat or an uncomfortable situation. This puts the body in a state of emergency, the prolonged periods of which can put a strain on the heart and lead to heart diseases, to an extent that it can lead to you making your final breaths before you know it. Besides impacting the heart and blood, depression can affect the blood chemistry too, mainly affecting its immune response. The depressed immunity equals more vulnerability to infections and diseases

Maintain a healthy diet even if you don’t feel like eating

It’s a known fact that people who are depressed eat less, although variations do occur in the complete opposite direction as overeating in depression. Depression plays a heavy role in appetite, mainly trying to nullify it and almost everybody knows what poor nutrition can lead to; cramps, stomachache, constipation, and most importantly malnutrition; which is a whole other topic for an article to be written on. Malnutrition can affect your sexual health, even when you don’t feel like it’s doing anything to you, it’s bringing you a lot of harm. In females, the loss in periodicity of menstrual cycles is observed. The loss of periodic menstrual cycles is largely due to malnutrition but depression itself can have quite a contribution to it too. In males, however, in whom the depression is not easily diagnosed because they are less likely to express the typical signs of depression, like crying, loneliness, sadness and lack of self-esteem, are found to have kept their feelings hidden which makes things even worse The most common consequence of depression on male health is the loss of interest in formerly pleasurable activities, low self-esteem and insomnia and less ‘manly’ of a feeling. All these can eventually cause what is known as ‘Erectile dysfunction’. When this happens, most men, to feel normal, go on their journey of ‘Cialis, buy online’, because no one likes to publicly announce that they have the dysfunction. This can prove to be a big mistake because although erection-boosting medications do temporary good, they have a very dangerous effect on the overall fitness, heart condition, and masculine health. rnDepression is a very neglected problem for people, most of the public don’t even consider it a disorder and when it brings the consequences they don’t even perceive the consequences to have happened because of depression, and continue in their actions of analyzing the consequence to be because of anything physical… anything physical but not mental. It is highly recommended that people must look around for each other, friends and family and be very observant about small yet prolonged mood swings of the people around them, and try to talk them out of it, however, if the problem continues, do not hesitate for even a second to call for medical Help
