'You either have rhythm or you do not. And when you have it, you have it all over.' These words have been said by the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley. And though the king himself is no more, these words remain true today more and more.rnThey put into proportion the attempts of thousands of Elvis tribute artists who are engaged in keeping his inheritance alive in the guise of the Elvis tribute shows. Anyone that has ever attended an Elvis tribute show in Vegas will give testimony to the excitement and exhilaration that pervades the performance locale. These shows are a sincere try to capture the true quintessence of the king, and best represent the Elvis bequest. As per Elvis's own energised and suave performances, an Elvis tribute show is certain to be high energy and terribly physical. And then the artist starts his note- perfect rendition of Elvis's million selling hits like Jailhouse rock, Heartbreak Hotel, Blue Suede Shoes, and the spectators goes funny dancing to the foot drumming music. All tribute artists wish to have the concluding act as the mythical Vegas spectaculars and the speed reaches an ear-shattering crescendo. Reactions are intense and need to be seen to be credited. Some members of the spectators appear dumbfounded, while some are even drawn to tears. It's fantastic the King's inheritance lives on even 30 years after his passing. The acclaim for the King that has sustained this line of business, is beyond understanding. Each tribute artist puts his all into each performance. A few individuals may say that a tribute artist has no identity of his very own and is known just by his Elvis impersonation. But what keeps him returning to it year on year, show after show, is seeing the reaction on peoples's faces. He does it as he loves the attention and acclamation he sees on peoples's faces. He does it due to his affection for Elvis and his music. What could possibly be a better tribute to Elvis? The genuine test of the tribute artist starts when he is taking the stage. The artist has to get all of the thousands of subtleties which make up Elvis, right. The artists put their all into each hip shake, rattle and roll. The deep soulful eyes, trademark snarl, simper and unique body position need to be perfected down to the T. Lip synching does not have much of an impact. So that the artist has to work on his voice, tone and inflection to sound just like Elvis. A good, live band also goes a good distance in building the right speed. The show itself is high octane. The fans is astounded by the intriguing similarity the tribute artist bears to the King. A lot goes into pulling off the ideal act which wows the fans and brings it to its feet howling with acclamation. Elvis wasn't merely a voice. It was actually the full package of music, look, performance and personality that had thousands of people under his spell for 20 long years. Recapturing all this and more, in front of a critical audience, needs a particular effort. Getting the look right isn't so complicated. Lots of producing firms copy the real rhine stone studded jumpsuits using the first, exclusive designs of Bill Belew and Gene Doucette. A good Elvis wig looks after the trademark side burns and the quaff. Various jewellery on the fingers and round the neck, and the artist is all set to hit the stage.
