Encouraging shy children at Birthday Parties

Whatever time of year, there are always birthdays to be celebrated. Kids love birthday parties and sharing their birthday celebrations with friends and family. Children love and these birthday parties in turn are getting more extravagant, more expensive. While some parents don’t mind flaunting a birthday party to make neighbors envious, throwing your child a birthday party is high on any parents list, while some parents don't want to spend a fortune for the celebration. There are a variety of parties right from park party, the home party, the mass family birthday party, the dress-up party, the jumping castle party, the bike-riding party and the restaurant party to name a few. I believe the key to hosting a successful birthday party is to be organized, keep it simple, stay flexible and remain calm. Children’s birthday parties have become big deals in today’s world and can be very stressful. Some are overly fancy, crowded with kids and adults, and seem to go on forever. If your child is naturally shy or introverted, there are ways you can help your son or daughter prepare for a birthday party. Talk about the invitation when it arrives. If there are several parties in a row, help your child decide on the ones to attend and those to leave out. Have your child help you choose and wrap the gift and help them draw and color a card. This will help the child feel more involved and will also lend a personal touch. Discuss the party early on the day of the event. by asking, "It’s almost party time. How are you feeling?" or "Is there anything you are worried about?" Ensure your child knows the correct address. Remind the child take to relax by stepping into a quiet unused room, incase feeling suffocated. Don’t push your child to interact before he feels ready. If you stay through the party, your child might feel confident especially, when you are open and friendly. If you chat with some of the kids, your child may join in after a few minutes. Encourage your child to help in the decoration of the party room. Sometimes parties that are held in MC. Donald’s can’t be decorated because, they do it themselves. By the age of 8 or 9, your child may want to tackle a sleepover with a few friends. Bee vigilant, as to whom your child’s friends are and small but important things like gender orientation. While many parents see the social arena as beyond their control, this is isn’t exactly true. As a parent, you can have a strong and positive influence on your child’s social abilities. After all, it is through your child’s daily experiences with you that the child will learn how to interact with others. One important way for you to help your child build social muscle is by valuing and recognizing your child’s social gifts and understanding your child’s social challenges. Through your own example, you can teach social skills and increase the child’s confidence in handling all types of social situations. Over time, your child will begin to own these strengths.
