One big source of energy consumption today in many homes and businesses is lighting. It makes up about 9% of the electricity bill and is a huge part of your greenhouse gas emissions as carbon dioxide is released during generation of electricity. Today, it has become simpler to use energy-efficient lighting as it has two major benefits- it reduces your energy bills and your greenhouse gas emissions. The incandescent light bulb traditionally used in homes and businesses is very inefficient and converts only 5% of the energy they receive in light. Fluorescent tubes used in most offices too tend to be inefficient. Switching to energy-efficient lighting is not at all hard. All you have to do is replace your standard globes and halogen lights with energy-efficient Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL) and Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs. Estelles Lighting offers you a varied collection of fashionable, attractive and affordable energy-efficient fixtures. Our aim is to provide you with energy-efficient lighting solutions for all industrial and commercial purposes. CFL Lamps CFL (Compact Fluorescence Lights) are very energy-efficient and cheap. They give off light when a mixture of three phosphors is exposed to UV light from mercury atoms. They last 10 times more than the incandescent bulbs and consume two-third of the energy. They last for 7-9 years and are the most economical choice for home lighting. They cost a little more than incandescent lighting but they are far superior in terms of energy efficiency. CFLs are mostly used for area lighting. There are many types of CFL lamps available in the market. For example, Twin Tube lamps, Quad Tube Lamps, Spiral Lamps, Circular Lamps, F Lamps etc. F lamps are commonly used for task lights. Circular Lamps are generally designed for reading lamps. LED Lamps LED (Light Emitting Diodes) are solid light bulbs that are extremely energy-efficient. They are generally used for holiday lighting but now can be used for lighting up your houses efficiently as well. LED produces light when electrons move around in its semiconductor structure. They cut down electricity costs by almost 80%! They are 10 times more long lasting than even compact fluorescent lights. Since, LEDs do not have a filament they resist vibration and shock. Thus LEDs are more durable and they don’t even heat up. LEDs come in a variety of colors and can be used for decorative lighting as well. Granted LED lights are expensive but they last for about 10 years and are a better choice hands down. There are many types of LEDs like Diffused bulbs, Track Lighting, Diffused high power bulbs etc. Diffused bulbs can be used to light rooms, porches, hallways and areas where lights are switched on for a long period of time as they spread light over a wider area. Diffused high power bulbs produce light equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent bulb and can be used for regular household use. Before you switch to energy-efficient lighting, you need to take a few points into consideration first to reduce your home or business' lighting expenses. Firstly, you need to replace all your fluorescent ballasts located in your halls, corridors etc as they don't accommodate energy- efficient bulbs. Secondly, you have to replace all incandescent lighting with compact fluorescent lamps. You also need to remove all unnecessary lamps as energy-efficient lighting makes them unnecessary. For outdoor garden lighting, use solar-powered lights. The most energy efficient lighting source is natural light which is free. Another way to save energy is to turn off lights when they are not in use. rnAbout Estelles Lighting: Estelles Lighting, Inc. is acknowledged in the market for our professional approach in the supply of Light fixtures.
