Entrepreneurship – You Need To Want It Bad Enough

New business ventures are started on a daily basis. People want to set their own hours, work for themselves rather than for someone else or make the decisions that only the top executives can make.
Are you one of those who just know that you could make better choices than your boss does? If only they would ask your opinion! If only they would give you a chance to prove that you have a good business mind. But, instead, you have to sit back and watch your supervisors make very poor decisions. You see another side to an issue that they didn’t consider. It becomes frustrating, knowing you have so much to offer.
You decide that becoming an entrepreneur just might be the answer. Being on your own and taking on all the responsibilities of owning a business can be exciting. It can be liberating. But it can also be tough. It is hard work!
Often when the corporate world looks dim, the world of entrepreneurship looks bright. You see only the freedom of owning your own business and block out possible negative outcomes. These other sides, according to entrepreneurs that offered input for this article, can include:
- Sleepless nights
- Stress-related illnesses
- Low revenues
- Self-doubt
- Inability to make a decision
- Work days that last 20 hours
- Loss of appetite
Looking at entrepreneurship from this point of view allows you to see the corporate world of working for others as something not quite so horrible after all.
What appears to be easy can turn out to be the exact opposite when you are sitting on the hot seat. When you are the one who must have all the answers, the business world can look quite differently. Do you want it bad enough to deal with all of this?
But if you are able to face these hard times and still want to own your own business, then you most likely do want it bad enough. And when you have that drive and desire for success, you will be able to combat issues when they come along.
You will be willing to give up hours of sleep if it means reaching your goal. You’ll realize that some kind of decision is better than no decision at all. When you make a decision based on all the information your currently have, then no matter the outcome, it was a good decision at the time. Tomorrow, if new information comes along, you can always change course.
Self-doubt will be replaced with confidence, self-assuredness and success. When you want something bad enough, you are willing to face some tough times in order to reach your goal. You’re willing to step up, take the heat and suffer the consequences. When you want it bad enough, you can endure anything. The result is success and living life the way you choose.
