Being a massage therapist since 1998 has given me years of experience in helping people find better balance in their lives, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Some of the most powerful experiences I have witnessed have come from exposing my clients to the healing benefits of therapeutic grade essential oils.
I have been a Young Living distributor since 2002, using the oils in my massage practice to enhance client's health and wellness, whether they are coming for structural integration, Craniosacral therapy, tuning fork therapy, or for physical or emotional pain.
I started teaching aromatherapy classes, and a young woman came to one of my classes and asked me if the essential oils could help her son. He had been diagnosed first as bi-polar and was put on a mood stabilizer. This did not seem to help. He was eventually seen by another doctor who diagnosed him as having Asperger’s – a form of autism. This young boy was on 3 very powerful drugs – Lamictal, Zoloft and Abilify – nothing was helping.
As he entered 5th grade, they put him into a private school for children with special needs and were paying $700 per month for him to attend school. The school called his mom every day to come pick him up because he was disrupting the class. This courageous young mom decided to home school her son and find a way to help him without all the medications with harmful side effects.
When she came to me with the question, "Can essential oils help my son?" we looked in the Essential Oils Desk Reference for guidance, and found the suggested oils for autism. The oils that this young man had great success with were: Sandalwood, Brain Power, Valor and Vetiver. After a few months of applying these oils on a daily basis to the bottom of his feet, the brain stem area and inhaling through the nose, I am very excited to report that he is off all medications, is in a Catholic school with no special needs programs, is on the honor roll and excelling in all his classes. He even won first place in a math competition including all area private schools!
People often ask me why I am so passionate about Young Living Therapeutic Grade essential oils. I tell them this story and say, "If this family were the only family I had helped by sharing the power of Young Living essential oils with them, it would be enough – but I have lots of other success stories of lives being changed because of Young Living's essential oils and oil-enhanced products – how can I NOT be passionate about something so wonderful?”
