A description about Indian traditional wear and the suitable occasions. India’s culture is widely grouped into the geographical boundaries like East, West, North and South India. Every state and city follows a different culture. Their culture is defined by their clothes, language, food, talent and festivals. However, there are festivals that are celebrated by the whole nation together and in the same way, like Holi, Deepawali, Dussehra, etc. Every family, society, city, state and the whole nation celebrates them in a similar way and wearing the traditional outfit. For an Indian woman, sari, salwar kurta, short kurtis, churidars, all fall in the ethnic wear style. An Indian lady is known for her culture and dressing style whenever she moves around the world. The natural heena (mehandi) beautifully patterned on a lady’s palm, gains her compliments coming from the people dwelling in foreign lands. Here are some Indian dresses- Sari- a woman clad in a saree is the most striking scenic view. It’s one of the most worn and graceful attire for any girl. A six meter cloth beautifully draped, styled with jewelry creates the look for a traditional occasion. Saree is worn by every second lady in India. In fact, people coming from the western side of the globe also love to get dressed in this piece of sophistication and classiness. It’s mostly the oufit for a married woman, however, even the unmarried also wear it for different occasions like weddings, ceremonies and official meetings. Fashion gurus and top notch designers have advanced the collection by introducing their piece of art and embroidery in them. Today, market is swarming with designers and styles. Net, silk, cotton, satin, nylon, etc. are all in the market. Nothing has been left unused; every material is being used to make the best possible outfit to sell. Salwar-Kameez- it’s a dress originated from Punjab, but is widespread throughout the country. It’s an embroidered and embellished kurta wore with a loose pant called salwar. Just like sari, many designers are creating exceptional pieces out of the cloth materials. They are designed so well that they are being showcased in fashion shows and magazines. Models and actresses are wearing it across the national boundaries to represent India and its culture. Many of our B-town ladies have done well for our country by wearing different forms of saris and salwar kameez to promote the structured values of India. Lehengas- this is the attire worn by the Indian bride. It’s a long skirt with a round flair complemented by a blouse and duppatta. It’s a patented attire for any bride in India. People spend lakhs and thousands of money to buy these wonderful pieces designed by the top notch boutiques. It, when worn with jewelry and an apt make up, makes the girl look like an apsara! Kurta and Kurtis- this is another kind of ethnic wear. Kurtas are long loose button down shirts that fall below or just above the knees of the wearer. They are complemented by matching churidars and salwars. They are worn in day-to-day life by many girls and ladies, as it’s comfortable and keeps you cool in summers. It’s also a casual wear dress for many, as girls in their early twenties wish to experiment with their traditional look. They are often worn by girls in college and working ladies. However, Kurtis on the other hand are short and fall above the thighs, generally. They are complemented by a pair of jeans or salwar. This is again very comfortable attire to wear when it’s hot, humid and dry. It provides you with ventilation keeping your style quotient intact. There are various avenues to buy kurtis online.
