The bones in our body play multiple roles in our life. It provides a skeleton and structure to our body; it gives us strength, protects vital organs like the heart and love, anchors muscles and is an important storage system for calcium. The nature and health of our bones are constantly changing. Maintaining healthy bones is vital if you want to lead a healthy stress free and pain free like. When we are born our bones are soft and not yet developed. As we grow older they rapidly develop and old bones are broken down and replaced with new ones. When we are children our body produces new bones at a much faster rate than at which it breaks down. Due to this our bone mass gradually increases. Optimum bone mass is achieved by the age of 30 after which we start to slowly lose more bone mass than we gain. This is when we start to develop diseases like osteoporosis and arthritis and aliments like brittle bones. The health of our bones is determined by the amount of bone mass our body is able to attain by the time we reach the age of 30 and how fast it loses it after crossing this age. The higher the bone mass peaks, the less likely one is to develop bone related health ailments as they age. A number of things affect the health of our bones. One of the most important determinants of bone mass and health is he amount of calcium we include into our daily diet. A diet low in calcium causes diminished bone density, early bone loss and an increased risk of fractures. People who don’t indulge in regular physical activity stand a higher risk of weak bones and the problems that come along with it as compared those who are physically active. Those who consume tobacco and alcohol excessively on a regular basis are more prone to bone related ailments. Research has suggested that tobacco use can be directly linked to weak bones. Similarly consuming more than two glasses of alcoholic beverages can increase chances of osteoporosis, as alcohol is known to interfere with and hinder the body’s ability to absorb calcium. Women, due to their genetic disposition, are more prone to weak bones. They have less bone tissue than men and this further reduces after they have experienced menopause. Old age causes bones to become thinner and weaker. A person’s race, frame and family history is also responsible for his bone health and density. Further, hormonal imbalances and eating disorders can cause the bones to weaken and become brittle and prone to fractures. As you can see a number of different things determine the health of your bones. Healthy bones are necessary and detrimental for good health. By making a few changes in your daily activities you can ensure you always have healthy bones. Regular exercise, a well-balanced meal and a few other things is all you need to do. Getting all the nutrients just from the food you eat is slightly difficult and so its advisable to consume health supplements like Osteo Pro, which are specifically targeted towards bones.
