“Evodia lepta Herb - A Healing Herb from Asia”

Evodia lepta or the Bee Bee Tree as it’s known in the West is a tree that grows in China and Korea. The bark and fruit of the tree make a great tea for healing many health challenges. Evodia tea soothes away digestion problems, menstrual challenges, and strengthening the nervous system and so much more.

Other Names - Evodia is also called Evodiae Fructus, Evodiae, Evodia Fruit, Evodia rutaecarpa, Evodia officinalis, Gosyuyu, San Cha Ku, Wu-Chu-Yu, Wu-Zhu-Yu and other names.

Helps with Digestion - Taking the bark and the fruits and making a tea is great for soothing away indigestion and soothing the GI tract in general. Evodia is used for all kinds of digestion and elimination challenges in Chinese Medicine.

Great for Diarrhea - Evodia is great for healing diarrhea and dysentery because it’s slightly astringent.

Nausea and Vomiting - Evodia also works well for soothing away nausea, vomiting, bloating, and gastric reflux. And it can also used in combination with ginger and ginseng for vomiting.

Strengthens Nervous System - Evodia strengthen our nervous system as it weakens with age.

GI Tract Spasms - Evodia works wonders to sooth away GI tract spasms and pain, because evodia is great carminative agent.

Cardiovascular System - Evodia has the ability to help with heart arrhythmias and heart failure. And studies in animals shows evodia can help with the healing of tissue damaged by heart attacks.

Gastric Ulcers - Evodia tea helps to prevent and heal gastric ulcers according to studies done with rats. Evodia contains evodiamine which prevents the growth of Helicobacter pylori bacteria.

Dose - The dried ground fruits and bark are used for making tea - usually 1.5 grams and up to 5 grams daily. Most people use a teaspoon of the herb per cup of hot water and allow it to steep for 15 minutes.

Used in Combination - Evodia is also used in combination with other herbs in tea pills such as Gan Mao Ling Tea Pills.

Slightly Toxic if Used in Excess - Evodia can be slightly toxic if used in excess because evodia is mild stimulant for the nervous system. But there have never been any side effects noted when taking evodia with supervision. And of course it’s always best to work with a good Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner when using evodia. And those who are pregnant or nursing should never use evodia or any other herb or medication.
