Lead Generation scripts are easier written than executed. Whoever was hired to write them had a whole speech in mind that came with the perfect tone, accent, and timed role play. But learning a lead generation script as well as memorizing is never as easy as it seems.
Scripts were meant to enhance the conversation and to hit a target. First of all, the pressure of meeting a goal or quota can be mind boggling as is. Lead Generation agents, therefore, like yourselves, who are asked to take a script to heart to gain your leads can adopt the following tips to enhance your cold calls.
Gaining a lead all begins with the right introduction. Practice listening to yourself and try to sound as convincing yet pleasant at once. An intimidating introduction, might throw off your client, and you could drive them away easily. Introductions were made to break the ice, get them comfortable, and most of all to help them understand the reason for your call.
Remember whose time you have asked for and the importance of the call you have just made. As much as you do want to present a quick analysis of their company and the services that you have to offer to fill in their gaps, you need to establish a rapport. Lead Generation is an art in itself that demands the confidence of the agent executing the call.
Another good thing to remember in Lead Generation is to avoid stuttering. If you stumble on a word, pause and collect yourself before moving forward. It is safer to step back and re-think than to stumble forward. Fumbling will and may happen. You just need to be ready to manoeuvre your way around the conversation with ease.
Lastly, if you are worried about taking that first step, try laughing at yourself to loosen the jitters. Laughing is an excellent way to boost your energy during the call and to give you that general feeling of lightness which the client will reciprocate.
