It's effective in a sense that it is the quickest way to catch people's attention and is the simplest way to relay your message to them. The question that remains now is how you can come up with an online video ad that would help promote your products or services and get more and more people to trust you and your business. Here are a few tips.
Set Your Goals
What is your main purpose for creating an online video ad? Is it to introduce a new product or build an existing brand? Is it to get more people to visit your physical or online store? Clearly define your objectives, so that later on, you can get back to your video ad and determine whether you have achieved your goals or not.
Know Your Audience
Who are you creating the video for, or who are you trying to reach with your ad? It's important to know who your target market is, their age, their wants and needs, and what their worldview is, because it will determine the style you are going to use in creating your ad.

The key to creating a successful video ad is to keep it short but sweet, clear and concise. This is especially important if you are still starting to build your brand. Make sure your objective is clearly delivered within the first eight seconds of the video because research suggests that it is within this period that people decide whether they want to proceed watching a video ad or not. If the first eight seconds of your video is boring, don't expect viewers to finish watching your video. On the other hand, if you can show viewers what they can benefit from watching your ad at the first eight seconds of your introduction, there is a higher chance they are going to complete the video and even respond positively to your call-to-action at the end.
Do Everything You Can to Broaden Your Reach
It's simply obvious that the wider your reach, the higher your chance of success. Therefore, see to it that you do everything in your ability to reach a wider audience. One way to do this is to place your video in a high-quality website that receives a lot of traffic. It could either be your own company website or other video hosting sites like YouTube. Speaking of YouTube, consider trying trueview video ads from Google. This new advertising format gives you more control on your budget because Google charges you only when a viewer watches your video and not when an impression is made.
Test Your Campaign
Finally, test your finished video ad several times to find out whether you are achieving your goals with it or not. If your resources and your budget would allow it, create several different videos using different techniques for each to find out which approach receives the highest response rate.
