Situated in the beautiful county of Northumberland, Bowsden is a quaint village within a lovely rural countryside setting with views for miles around. Paxton House, situated just seven miles from the village is another hidden gem to explore. It's a great example of an eighteenth century country house estate featuring period furniture and antiques, a large picture gallery of masterpieces and eighty acres of landscaped gardens, parkland and woodland. The area surrounding the village is ideal for those with a love of nature and outdoor activities. There are some great walking and cycle routes with a variety of walkways and footpath networks. Choose from paths through the hillside to alongside the stunning coastline. The county is a haven for birdwatching and wildlife including rare species and breeds. Along the coastline and cliffs, seabirds including puffin can be found. The Farne Islands close by are famous for their breeding of seabirds and include large numbers of different birds including again puffin, guillemots and eiders. Berwick upon Tweed has a range of amenities within easy reach of the village.
