Other than tigers, the park is home to 50 species of mammals, 580 species of birds, 25 species of reptile and 110 species of trees. Kaziranga National ParkrnKaziranga National Park nestles on the banks of the river Brahmputra. It is spread over 430 square kilometers. People from different parts of the world come to this national park to catch glimpses of one horned rhinos. This national park is India’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Periyar National ParkrnPeriyar National Park is located in Kerala and it is the most popular of all national parks in India. This ecopark covers an area of 350 sq km. Elephants are tigers are the two most popular mammals found here. In Kerala, this park is popularly called the Tiger Reserve. Sariska Tiger ReservernSariska National Park was established in the year 1979. It is situated in Rajasthan and is known for its population of tigers. The park has abundant varieties of flora and fauna. There are some tourist attractions too inside the park including The Shiv Temple, The Kankwari Fort and The Palace. Sundarbans National Park rnSunderbans was created in 1973. However, it was announced to be a national park in the year 1984. Sunderbans National Park is located in West Bengal. Some years later it was declared to be a Biosphere Reserve. Gir Wildlife SanctuaryrnGir Wildlife Sanctuary was created in 1965. It covers an area of about 2450 hectares. It is renowned across India for housing the Indian Lion. It houses approximately 300 Tigers. It has other species of flora and fauna too. Kanha National ParkrnKanha National Park is located in Madhya Pradesh and it is famous for housing tigers. It was established in the year 1974 under Project Tiger. It covers a total area of 940 square kilometers. This ecopark is known for housing the largest population of tigers in India.
