Nagaland is a fabulous land wrapped in sheer natural beauty. Travel to this virgin land where after every few meters you find wonderful attractions. This narrow strip of green mountains has been home to many Tibetan-Burmese tribes before the birth of Christ. Each tribe is different from the other in traditions, customs and dialect. These tribes live in isolation deep in the recesses of the desert in which safeguard and practice their customs and traditions of old age accurately. Although most of the tribes are Christina but some still follow their old culture and tradition. Rural areas are more attractive, colorful and unique compared to what travelers have seen so far. There is a common saying that, "Nagas start a new life in a cradle of bamboo and ends in a coffin made of bamboo" which means he masters the art of basketry as a livelihood and goes from this world in a coffin made out of bamboo. Each tribe has its own particular design and their dress gives identity of clan. World famous Naga Shawls are well known for its bright colors with elaborate patterns of diamonds, stripes, squares and diamonds. Another important handicraft of the region is that of pottery.
