Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people, without a Warner having lived among them (in the past). (Chapter 35: Verse 24) This statement mentioned above is taken from 35th chapter of Qur’an, the Holiest of all Scriptures revealed onto Muhammad (PBUH) as the final Prophet of Allah Almighty, is very much clear in its meanings. This translation of 24th verse of 35th chapter intimates us that Allah Almighty, the Ultimate Creator of the universe, not only created human beings, but also bestowed them with the due guidance they needed. This verse also makes it clear that there has been no time and people that have been devoid of this graciousness from Allah Almighty. However, as there is a start to everything, so is there an end to it. This continuous chain of guidance that was commenced by Adam (A.S), the first ever person to see the face of earth and the first ever Messenger appointed by Allah Almighty ultimately had to end and it was Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who held this honor. He was descended on earth more than 14 centuries ago by Allah Almighty to complete His favor upon humanity till The Day of Resurrection and the message of guidance was completely delivered to humanity at pious hands of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as also mentioned in Qur’an: This day, I have perfected your religion for you and completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion…" (Holy Qur'an, 5:3) This verse not only intimates about finality of Islam as Allah’s chosen religion till end of times, but also reveals to us that all this information is to be found nowhere else but in Qur’an. That is why Muslims are instructed to learn Qur’an and Quran school has always been an integral part of Muslim societies. Studying and understanding Qur’an is also deemed important because there is nothing that remains uncovered in it. Reading it also reveals that Islam does not defy religions prior to it; rather it acknowledges and embraces them while establishing its truth and might with the will of none other than Allah Almighty. Let’s contemplate on the following verse in this regard: "We believe in God, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) Prophets form their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we submit to God." Nobel Qur'an (2:136) What’s even better is the fact that Islam does not confine itself here; rather it merely marks the begging of how to live on this earth peacefully trying to seek accord of Allah Almighty: "O people of the Book! Come to common terms as between us and you: that we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, lords and patrons other than Allah. If they turn back, Say:"Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will)." Nobel Qur'an (3:64) Qur’an is full of teachings of such mutual respect, unlike how negatively it is portrayed nowadays in media with evil intentions of tarnishing its image. As stated earlier, the need is to learn it individually, so that everyone develops an understanding on its true and pure teachings. For people like us living in present times, online Quran reading can be one of the best solutions compatible to our modern day lifestyles. It is very important to realize that Allah’s greatness does not really need one individual’s (or for that matter, whole humanity’s) favor; it is for our own betterment and well being that we submit ourselves to the ultimate might and reality that Allah Almighty is. May we be helped during every second of our quest towards finding more about great lord Allah.
