Facebook users share music via MySpace

After much revamping, it appears that Myspace, whose power as a social network was much diminished, has found its niche. It is home to many musical artists and bands, and it has announced a sign-in with Facebook. Some may see this as Myspace taking the role of little brother to Facebook, but experts feel that it will benefit users of both networks.

One reviewer gave it a test run recently on Facebook, and he found out that it was easy to use. It picked up his old and abandoned Myspace profile with his old friends and bands, but it imported as well the entertainment that he'd “liked” on Facebook, which he felt made it easier than redoing a profile or creating a new one. The profile and home screen, he found, were familiar, and will be, to Myspace users, and easily picked up even if you're not a member of Myspace.

This might possibly be the easiest and simplest way to share music through Facebook and the other social networks. There is not as good a selection of music through some networks, but finding a band and sharing it on Facebook is simple. No system is perfect, and some users will prefer a customized page when they click on the music icon, rather than a generic page with only a small artists' activity window at the bottom. That aspect makes it a bit harder to track your favorite bands.

It is a good idea for Myspace to focus on what it does best, and teaming with Facebook is a good partnership. Myspace will get the hits when someone clicks on a track that is shared. And Facebook allows people to share their favorite entertainment and music on its expanded platform.

Mashup is able to transform Myspace games, video, audio, news, comedy and films into a network that works with Facebook. It seems to some users that perhaps Facebook isn't content with knocking on Myspace's door, but rather it wishes to search out new users, with Myspace approval. It could perhaps be the beginning of the end for Myspace, and another win for Facebook.
