Sinus lift graft is one of the common forms of oral plastic surgery that is designed to increase the height of the maxillary bone. Generally we do this for further reconstructive work, such as dental implants. The maxillary sinuses are situated behind the cheekbones just above the upper back teeth. In many cased when one or more teeth need to be removed there is not much supportive bone left between the maxillary sinus and the mouth. This is the most common problem for dentists and their patients of dental implant because it means there is very little natural bone in which to anchor a dental implant. In the sinus lift procedure the sinus membrane is then gently manipulated upward from the location of the missing upper tooth or teeth after which a bone grafting material is placed at the base of the sinus. If a dentist finds sufficient bone present between the jaw and the bottom of the sinus he can proceed immediately to placing a dental implant. After healing periodontist can start for the further procedure of dental implant. The dentist will check your condition that there should be enough bone available after healing then further work in the area must be started. This healing procedure may take several months. It also depends upon the age and health of the patient. After the bone is sufficiently healed and permanently attached to the floor of the sinus then the periodontist can start the process of placing dental implants. At Brighton Implant Clinic the highly trained team is experienced in the sinus lift procedure and everything necessary for successful dental implants.
