Never stop doing what you did to fall in love.
Today, many relationships fail because we stop doing what we did to fall in love in the beginning. We get in the relationship, we get familiar with our partner, and then we get complacent.
As a Relationship Coach, I'm reminded everyday of the importance of keeping my love fresh. Earlier this week I took my wife to Cancun, Mexico to stay at the Palace Resorts. We got up early, spent all day in the sun and reconnected all day long. It was amazing. I was able to look deep into my wife's eyes all day and remind myself of the inner beauty that I fell in love with, not to mention the outer beauty that is oftentimes overwhelming. It's so easy to get complacent, put on weight, stop doing the little things, and fall out of love. We must make an effort to stay in love. A relationship is a job that you can't retire from. You must always work on your relationship. I spent 3 days just listening to my wife. I didn't want to disagree, argue, or focus on any problems that could be addressed. I just wanted to fall deeper in love and enjoy her company. It's amazing that after being with her for about 8 years total it felt like we'd just met and were falling deep in love.
I realize now that most relationships fail because one or both parties stop working towards it. We get selfish and begin to focus on all of the things our partner isn't doing for us instead of focusing on all of the things we could be doing for our partner. We get complacent and feel like we don't need to continue working on our body and appearance because our partner loves us for who we are. We begin to focus on the problems instead of the solutions. We begin to focus on our differences instead of our similarities. We let our differences weaken us instead of strengthen us. Then our relationship begins to fail and we can't seem to figure out why. If this is you then take some time to get-away and hit the reset button. If you can't afford to go anywhere then do it at home. Turn off the tv and the phones and just spend time with your partner. If you can afford to start saving for a vacation or you have the funds to go somewhere now then I recommend Palace Resorts!! It was amazing for so many reasons.
1. The food: the food at Palace Resorts was amazing. It's an all-inclusive resort so you can eat as much as you want, whenever you want. There were about 14 different restaurants and only one requires a reservation.
2. The Amenities: We stayed at Moon Palace and it was unreal. There were 3 resorts connected with a world of their own at each. You can travel freely between the three and take part in all activities at either of them. We had a beautiful suite at Moon Grand. Then we'd catch the lobby-to-lobby bus and ride over to Nizuc to eat. Next, we'd catch the bus to Sunrise and hang at the pool. The travel time is only 2-3 minutes between each resort. There were a lot of food options at the Sunrise pool and a lot of pool space. The food options are endless at the Sunrise pool but I loved that you could have unlimited brick-oven pizza. The drinks are unlimited as well. Whether it's alcohol, sodas, or water you can drink as much as you want.
3. The Activities: At the pool areas there are organized activities. This was really cool because it would be hard to organize these activities ourselves with a bunch of strangers, but the staff runs the show and it's like hanging with friends. We played pool volleyball, but there was also beach volleyball, table tennis, wake-boarding, bike riding, jet-skis, and performances. Each night at 8pm there is a different show and they are very entertaining. We saw a Michael Jackson show one night, a retro show the next, and another dance show on the last night. It was amazing because you can eat an amazing dinner and then walk right outside and watch an entertaining show. After that you can go to the night club that's on the premises. It's just as nice as any club you've ever been to. We went one night because my wife loves to dance. They played the classic songs and there were people from the ages of 18-70 in there dancing. It was a very nice environment. We broke a sweat on the dance floor, lol.
4. The Service: the service was amazing!! I wish all hospitality staff in the world had to go through the same training as the staff at the Palace Resorts. It was second to none.
This vacation was amazing and we will definitely be doing it again. Our love was strengthened so much and the time we had was unforgettable.
Never stop doing what you did to fall in love...
