Kota is one of the famous historical city of Rajasthan which is best-known for its surprising collocation of impressive medieval age structures and modern day industrialization. It is an crucial tourist place of Rajasthan which is located on the bank of Chambal River. City Fort Palace:It is a splendidly beautiful palace complex situated by the side of the Kota Barrage dominating the Chambal River. This fort is known for its hard bastion, exquisite domes, ramparts and bannisters. Apart from these places, the Durbar Hall of this palace is best-known for its beautiful ivory doors and mirror work.
Within the fort, you can also visit the Rao Madho Singh Museum. This museum is famous for its good collection of traditional weapons, Rajput miniature paintings of the Kota School, wall painting and elegant sculptures.
Jag Mandir:It is situated within the beautiful artificial lake Kishore Sagar which was built by Prince Dher Deh of Bundi in the year 1346 AD. The red sandstone building of this palace was built over an island. Beauty of this glorious structure is enhanced by the surrounding sky-blue water. The boat ride gives the chance of viewing the Jag Mandir from close quarter. Its reflection in crystal waters of the lake gives a breathtaking view to visitors.
Government Museum:This is situated in the Brijvilas palace near the Kishore Sagar dam. It is one of the best-known attractions place which has rich collection of manuscripts, rare coins and Hadoti sculptures. The painting section of this museum is noted for its several miniature paintings of Kota, Nathdwara, Bundi and Jaipur schools. Sanskrit manuscripts can also be seen in the manuscript section of this museum.
