The ideal situation for a live-in provider is one where the patient has an extra bedroom and enough disposable income that they are not completely dependent on Medicare to fund their live-in care. Medicare generally does not provide full coverage for live-in care and it can become an expensive option when paying for it out of pocket. By meeting with live-in provider agencies ahead of time you can figure out how much it will cost you and how you can finance this care option. Live-in care is the preferred care option for most elderly people who need full time care. Unfortunately, many people do not have the necessary resources to make this option a reality.
