One of the most interesting things about field marketing is that even if you've never heard of it before, you've more than likely taken part in it. From sneaking that sample in your local supermarket to chatting to promotional staff, field marketing is done in a huge variety of ways. The great thing about field marketing jobs is that there is a huge variety of them and thus there is more than likely one that will suit you.

If you like working in an exciting and fast paced office environment, where every day is different, then a field marketing office is the perfect place for you. The job titles are familiar, but the work itself isn't anything like the stuffy office environments you might be used to. Field marketing agencies are full of enthusiastic people who really believe in the brands that they are promoting. You, after all, become an extension of the brand you are representing.

So if you're in the office, what can you be expecting to be doing? If you're an analyst, then working within a field marketing company could provide you with an interesting opportunity. The data you analyse will not only be varied, but you will have the opportunity to use your skills to make a real impact on the way a brand is distributed. You will be helping increase sales performance and overall team dynamics.

If you're a real people person then there are a whole variety of field marketing jobs that are based around working with the public. Consumer sampling is an important role in the field marketing process. This involves you having a friendly and approachable demeanour and offering samples of your product to members of the public. This could take place within a store or it could take place on the street. Not your average day's work, that's for sure!

Perhaps you think you have a real skill for spotting a great field marketing worker. Recruitment managers are just as necessary in field marketing as they are anywhere else. If you think you know talent when you see it, then recruitment could be the sector for you. Again, the kind of people you need to look for will be varied and you'll get the chance to meet and work with a whole host of different people. Finding the best representative for the project is important, so you'll be a vital component to the field marketing process.

Whatever you think your specialist skill is then field marketing more than likely has something for you. Whether you're a great sale person, great with people, or just know a great potential employee when you see one, then this could be the profession for you.
